G'day, anyone have a photo of the black Super Tenere?
G'day, does anyone have a photo of the black Super Tenere, it had gold anodised hubs, plenty of trick looking stuff etc.
He arrived two up with his wife/girlfriend. I think it was a Super Tenere, but unfortunately I got sidetracked & forgot about it. Whoever owns it, well done, it looks great! Here's another shot of Claude arriving on his '53 Velocette 500. Great to see an old classic well used & ridden, good stuff. |

Whatishisname answer
Hey McCardigan McGargle,
'Whatishisname' is the Clubman Tourers stalwart Russell PryNowUKnowIllHave2KillU! ;) - Probably the most well travelled of the Clubmaneers. Looney is walking by in the background. His pic again: http://tucktruck.smugmug.com/photos/...2_i3rye-XL.jpg

We left from Melbourne on Friday afternoon at about 4, our route was Melbourne to Alexandra then o to Albury for the night. Besides a little bit of dirt from Alexandra to Mansfield dodging sheep, roos and rabbits (well actually i didn't bother dodging the rabbits
). It was a boring as bat shit ride up the hume to cover as many km's as possible.Leaving home ![]() From Albury bright and early we still had 4 hours of riding to get to Taralga pub for lunch. The camp ground ...and the fire ![]() After packing up with a sore head, we had 2 days to kill to get back to sunny Melbourne. The journey went something like this: Taralga, Crookwell, Yass, Wee Jasper, Tumit, Tumbarumba, Tintaldra, Somewhere??, attempted Bullhead creek (wet muddy and lost), Talangatta, Then a blast down the Hume home. Here are a few pics, enjoy. A little fix up A little wet! ...she wanted to play in the mud too, she must have got that from a BMW owner ![]() and finally the last fuel stop before home. Hope to see you all again next year.

I fucking love it, not just because it's a Tengai but because it actually works and you can fix it with a hammer. They don't make bikes like they used to.

10am was the designated time to meet fellow members of the BMWTCNSW & a couple of other friends on the outskirts of Mittagong for our ride into the TTT Rally. The rain seemed to be settling in & legend has it that the Trail into Thrashers only needed 5 spots of water to turn it into a narly Quagmire, so I thought were were in for an interesting trip in. Unusually for me, I arrived early & headed up to the Shops for some Supplies. Still raining so decided to put the Wet Weather Gear on. As it goes with a large group, it was 11am before 11 ADV'ers set off down Wombeyan Caves Rd. I'd been looking forward for some time to travel this road & the rain that had fallen dictated a slower pace unfortunatley. Still a very enjoyable ride with only a couple of nasty moments. 1st stop was at the Wollondilly River crossing.
![]() ![]() Three of us pushed on the next 15 K's to Wombeyan Caves to forewarn them at the Kiosk that 11 hungry ADV'ers were about to decend. Never done Wombeyan Caves Rd before so it was my 1st visit to the Caves area as well. It won't be my last, I was really impressed with it. Pie & Chips for lunch & a bit of a wander around, I could feel the STRESS just falling out of me. TTT here we come. Mr & Mrs Thrasher formed a very friendly welcoming committee. ![]() All smiles wiyh the Houses set up, time for a drink & a wander. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Claude made a Grand entrance on his Velo & proceeded to drop it whilst doing a Douhnut (oops, I mean demonstrating how he didn't fall off on the way in) ![]() Will Wall - a - be there ? ![]() As darkness fell, the fire was lit & the wind begun to howl, check the angle of the flames in shot 2 compared with the first. The socialising & merriment carried on in earnest well into the night. Was great catching up with many old friends & some soon to be. (what's that?? not so much of the OLD you say). ![]() ![]() ![]() With morning (BLOODY cold I might add) comes the post mortems of the evenings festivities, the hangovers & the packing up. ![]() That wind played havoc with Balas Tent Poles & he awoke with most of it down around his ears. ![]() Packed up & ready to fire up & go. ![]() ![]() Almost packed up & ready to go. (me included he he) ![]() ![]() I'll be back !!! ![]() Didn't you see the BLOODY Arrow Bala? ![]() ![]() hunter_greyghost & Mrs ghost, obviously having a Hoot, here's proof. ![]() Oh!, Did I say I was impressed with Wombeyan Caves? Dam fine spot. ![]() 5 of us travelled out together & we had a Hoot as well, very interesting punting the Tourance shod GS out through the trails from Thrashers & Wombeyan Caves Rd was a real blast, totally different from the previous day. A little stop up the top after the Tunnel & it was off to Mittagong for a big Brunch. ![]() ![]() After Mittagong, we got off the Hume Boring bloody Highway as quick as we could. Colo Vale, Tahmoor, The Oaks, Warragamba & Penrith,,, (much nicer run) & then. Woz & I had decided earlier on to drop in at Nepean Raceway on the way home as it was the 50th aniversary of the track opening & they had the NSW Dirt Track Championships on. Woz & I, in our misspent youth raced Short Circuit at Nepean (I am horrified to say) 30 years ago. Thats when I was last there. There was a supprisingly large crowd there & it was fantastic to see a few races there, it really took me back. A few shots of the action. (i had no choice but to shoot through a Chainwire Fence, did the best I could) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Perfect finish to a great Weekend Cheers |

Go the Honda V-Twins!
I thought that Steve Crombie was on a new Tenere? Good to see a Tengai, the Kwakas should have stuck with the styling.

$2K with 13 on the clock, brings tears to my eyes .'Twas my first open class licence mount, (pre LAMS era) .Frame cracks due to vibration if held on $1.40 all day .No fork booties? , interesting. Extra fuel (what, 23L not enough?) carried so close to exhaust. Brave indeed. Did it get warm when she went down on the muddy hillclimb? Great photos by the way, saved a few. Lush landscapes, fun twin track. Cheers. |
