Nothing much has changed in the building. Few more tourists these days and of course it was part of the biggest staion in Australia back then.., All sub-divided into smaller lots and different businesses now..

OK, so I did the "Red Lily Billabong" road today (dang, i just cant seem to upload photos)

So the turnoff, as Topend says, is on the darwin side of the south alligator river......from old jiim jim road......

Lotsa fun, very much a 4wd track, mostly 2nd and 3rd gear, with some crocodile infested billabongs, and even some water buffalo!

I'll check out Marrakai Rd next weekend!

'bout 67kms.......

ok, true confessions; my photos are shit....but workin on em....

I saw a croc in the south alligator river, next to the trail ; it was doing the "loch ness" thing with its eyes, after making a splash

I get a little spooked when riding alone in these more remote areas....;when the ride and the bike is going well, i dont wanna stop and tempt fate in any way....is this too sensible?

Good info thanks! I would REALLY like to encounter a real, wild water Buff( I mean, a real water buff, in the wild!!) Fingers will be crossed!

Marrakai Rd sounds like it will be ok, but know one knows 'bout a route thru to Arnhem Hiway from Ringwood Rd? Shonkey maps shows that it connects but Google earth gets very indistinct about 1/2 way thru.

2-up and loaded, we will not be looking for trouble.

Nice one Kezza

Your photos are great, too!

I'm in Cairns this week, so couldn't do the Marrakai track....but i've rented a gs500 to fart around on whilst here; and its great to do some twisties on the road, as there aint too much curvy roads in the NT....

See yez soon

Anyone been into NT motorcycles lately?

Do they have a new Tenere to look at, or test ride?

and another NT advrider

G'day all,

Good to see a bit of activity with top end advriders. Keen to hear more of any rides.

Me and the DRZ are feeling a bit battered after being defeated by the boulderdash last weekend (I'm still up 2-1 and keen to make it 3-1 next year) - the safari tank had a couple of impact tests on the way around, and passed!

Will stay tuned,
Dave
