Not a bad little cache of rides to try... nothing earth shattering, but it saves me having to actually think about a route for a while.
jabba, snowshoe is very bike friendly. they have a couple of rally's every year. the big one is the Freedom Fest in July

The rumors were bullshit! The Highland Inn is a tad better than it was with the old owners. I planned the trip to blast through the front at it's weak point on 55 in the afternoon. We got some rain, but really not bad riding. Going against the front we had sun and great weather from 3PM on.

All in all a great weekend, did 55, 220, 250, 33 and 211 and all the back roads that interconnect them

Couldn't believe this one, while riding out on 55 this old MPY POS K12RS came screaming the other way, well guess what, 130 miles from home it's amazing who your run into:

After we said high to Stevarino we had fun in the sun and 70 degree weather all the way to Monterey via Smoke Hole - great roads and weather.

For those that haven't been out there, the Highland Inn (see not BS'in about the weather):

This is what the inside is like. The rooms are a work in progress, but comfortable and the food was great.

The study complete with cat:

Dining Room:

The cat ramp - for the attack cats that we tipped to guard our bikes.

The front you blasted through...I rode with it for about 100 miles. I was soaked at that point.

Good seeing you guys Phil and Beck. Sorry for the momentary intrusion.

Fixed it for you.

We went back and forth between 250, 33 and 211, even hit Singers Glen, but didn't see of the ADVer's.

- EDIT - OOps ! Late. Didn't read the entire thread. My bad... -EDIT-

Highly recommend The Homestead. Probably a 5 star resort, presidents and other snobs have stayed there. It ain't cheap, but there are a ton of good roads around.

You will be pampered. Spa, springs, golf, gyms, etc....

Yup, BTDT, but we were looking for something low key and quiet. Brought back some names of B&B's we past for the next time.

We did go to Stevarino's most favorite of all restaurants however, High's in Monterey, I was going to get him a club sammich to go, but they were only serving from the breakfast menu. Here are a couple of his cousins headin in now for dinner:

Ah, it was my first LD bike trip ... I remembered well arriving Monterey on Day 2 (Elkins WV - Blowing Rock NC) of a four day outbound to Eureka Springs. The rain during the descent on US 250 was intense, and arrived at High's to see another poor bastard soaked to the gills. Won't ever forget that day, but that's how it is with first times.
