well how to say it. i no longer have a bike.

or at least a rideable one.

today this arvo on the way home, i was Tboned. well more to the point, i tboned someone.

had just turned into a road in town on the way home from work, and there was a sedan at a stop sign. well needless to say he pulled out infront of me when i was about 10m away from him. all the ABS in the world wouldnt have helped. was no avoiding it. just before impact i had my front brake as hard as i could get it without lockup and same for the rear, but i hit his car. i have done a full flip over the bonnet and landed 2m clear of his car on the other side. i didnt touch his car at all it was all the bike. i was clear of his bonnet by about a meter or so i was told.

anyway, bikes been written off we think. my forks are snapped. literally, my forks have been split open at the bottom triple clamp.

front end of my bike is stuffed. absolutely rooted. front wheel is buckled, mud guard is shattered, radiator is ruptured. thats all i saw before the ambos got there.

he admitted fault at the scene, witnesses say there was no way i could have avoided it. he has full insurance so i am going to be getting new gear and another bike.

my ankle is absolutely killing me. isnt broken, at least the ambos didnt think so. and neither does mum. but we are seeing what happens tomorrow when we get it xrayed.

we are also stopping in at the tow yard tomorrow so i can get pics of the damage. to my bike and his car. yes the car got towed as well. from the front right wheel well to about midway up the bumper is gone.

so tomorrow i will have pictures and an xray.

i would like to, but for a daily bike, i need something bigger. as it is the KLR is physically too small for me. the DR feels like im just not riding anything at all. its still on the cards for a dirt bike, but not as my daily. i need a bike that i dont dwarf and one thats comfy.

Eh? Jeez mate, you're a lucky fella.

Nice to see you're well enough to surf the web and ADVrider.

At least now you won't have to worry about fixing up your KLR ...

Shit mcfear, your not having a very good run at the moment..

Stay away from anything with a motor for a while mate, I was going to recommend playdough but I think you`d end up getting it stuck up your nose..
