Question Heading to Deals Gap

I am heading to Deals Gap Labor Day weekend. Any recommendations on dirt roads in the area? Just beginning riding the GS in dirt, so nothing extreme please.

Thanks in advance.

Why bother with that POS road. There are more and better roads in the smokies.

labor day weekend riding

I am going to be riding some dirt roads in the Franklin/Robbinsville/Bryson City area that weekend. I was thinking about sunday and Monday. Ping me at andy112652 at aol.com if you want to try to get together.

Say what you will, but every time I've been to the dragon on Memorial or Labor Day weekend I've had an absolute blast. It's great to watch all of the squids wad their bikes into a plastic explosion, and I could watch it all day. However it is definitely more fun on the Buell than it is on the GS.

I'm supposed to be there that weekend but the Jury's still out. I keep trying to think of another place to spend a couple of days at, but nothing within 600 miles of me is as fun to visit as the Smokys. Anyone have any suggestions?

Just hit the Smokeys. Even if you never make it to Deals Gap you can have a blast. I just spent three days down there, and loved every minute, even when getting rained on. I'm going to have to start doing that a couple of times per year.
