Ok today's post is easy. I'll let the videos speak for themselves. Since the season for crossing the passes into Ladahk is so short, everyone is here with the same idea. strangely we never saw these French guys at the top of Rohtang. They may have turned back from the landslide.

Some of us don't have enough vacation time to have so much fun with the mechanics so we have to pick lesser bikes with more than 2" of suspension travel

Sure, Enfields must be "beaten" for comfort... Could you not reduce your downtime somewhat by at least buying a new Enfield 500 with left side gears, disc brake, etc. instead of an old beatup 350?

The horn on those big Tata trucks will about make you shit your pants when you swing around a blind curve and the oncoming Tata taking up the entire roadway beeps. They sound like a cross between squealing brakes and a ululating scream of terror.

GREAT videos!

Though it was in our original plan, we didn't even attempt Rohtang Pass last April due to a recent snowfall.

Wow, I just did a conversion on xe.com and the 23,000rp you paid comes out to $479.00us, even with repairs and such you're traveling really cheap, Way to go!! I'm subb'd

Lovin the report. Keep it comming.

Good move in removing the drama, albeit cute.

If I were to do this trip I also would choose an Enfield. After all it is an adventure and touring India on a Enfield is classic.

Yeah pretty good deal. Like a friend pointed out to me, I spent more on my tank bag for my GS1200!
