Canadians on the horizon!

Greetings from Toronto Ontario!

My 950 awaits my arrival in Albuquerque where I intend to be on the 4th. Itd sure be great to join your crew in the white rim ride on Easter weekend if possible! I'll bring the bacon!

How rough is John Brown Canyon...

I also have this posted in the trip planning section, but realized that you guys are probably much more informed about this area...

In early June, I'm gonna load up the Wee in Denver and head to UT/AZ/NM for 7-10 days. I'm looking for an alt route from Grand Junction to the Blanding area. How rough is John Brown Canyon out of Gateway? I'll be fully loaded and don't have a skid on the Strom since my KLX300 is my usual trail bike.

Much thx in advance,
Gritz

It's a very well graded road that is like pavement when dry. When wet, it's impassable- slicker'n snot! June is traditionally a very dry month, so you should be fine.

Any news on what Baxter Pass is like? I got the next week off and am looking at making some loops out of Craig.

No idea, I was going to ride up that direction today, but didn't get out. Hopefully I can get out either tomorrow or Sunday and report back.

Anyone interested in riding some really brutal stuff around the GJ area on Sunday morning? This will be near trials style type riding... note "trials" not "trails". But I use a trail bike. Sent me a PM.

Baxter will have a lot of snow on the N side in the trees. Was over and back on Douglas today. About two feet of snow on top.

BTW- I drove up Onion Creek and connected to Kokopelli to Moab a few days ago with my brother; it's all in good shape and open now.

Piggy on Easter!
