WestFest 2010 - Montana!
![]() Here's the Scoop: WestFest will be held in Darby Montana. The location is here. lat 46.016873, lon -114.177637 You can arrive anytime starting Wednesday after noon July 21 2010, and departing Sun July 25. (In fact, you can arrive any time during the week prior if you'd like as the property will be available.) Here's the campground map: ![]() Tenters are the heart and soul of WestFest and there'll be plenty of room for them. RV's can dry camp there too. We will have a few hoses available to replenish tanks with non-potable water (irrigation water). Showers will be available at the local high school. I will have a map up before the event and will have maps at WestFest. If you want to ship tires up here, please contact ShadyRascal by PM, he will receive them at his house, and I will get them down to the MT1000 start. We will have a lube oil waste container there and some pans, so you may plan to change your oil while there. You must bring your own oil. We think we will be able to provide a significant amount of food. Friday, serve yourself brats, potato salad, coffee, iced tea, lemon aid and water will be available when ever you arrive so you can grab a quick bite as you get settled in without having to run into town. Saturday morning will be pancakes and bacon ... we're shooting for eggs ... kinda depends on the size griddle we can get our hands on. Saturday dinner will be pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, and coleslaw, coffee, iced tea, lemon aid and water. (+ shhhh....)Sunday morning coffee, tea, and muffins. Sam, the lady that runs the place, will be leaving up the large 100'x50' main tent which will have the kitchen, an area with lots of outlets to charge cellphones and whatnot, tables and chairs for general use, and the check-in table where all the t-shirts and stuff will be. Sam will also leave up two covered bleachers in front of the square pond. This pond has two large logs over it you can test you balance on. I highly recommend this after numerous beers. The bleachers, of course, provide prime viewing of drunks falling of logs. Also within prime viewing will be a trials bike course. I will be bringing my TY175 beater trials bike for folks to play on; I encourage anyone who has a trials bike to bring it along. We'll try to have some recommendations for other good spots nearby to plunk around. Kids are welcome to the event. Free for 10 and under, half price 15 and under. We are working on fun things for the kids, we currently plan to have some hay bails to play on and some sort of a small pool that will be next to the bleachers. Parents please bring Frizbees for a round of folf, or other outdoor toys. Hayduke is doing the t-shirts. ![]() ![]() Thanks Duke!!! Order here!!! Shirts will be brought to the rally for delivery. Stickers will also be available for purchase at the rally. Big thanks to Iron Horse for designing the logo for this year. Entry fee is $60, please send your PayPal to tyllhertsens@gmail.com . PLEASE include your ADV screen name in the subject or comments of your payment. If you don't, I won't know who you are, and I will drink your share of beer. Some have asked about alternatives to PayPal .... oh, okay. Send checks to: Tyll Hertsens 416 N 21 Ave Bozeman, MT 59718 Thank you! We will be budgeting 10% of proceeds to go to Baldy. The Montana 1000 will run the week prior to WF and will start/finish at the WF site. MT 1000 riders will leave Sunday morning July 18, and return to WF on Friday afternoon July 23. MT1000 riders should park against the south fence when they arrive at the site on the Friday or Saturday before the ride. Cars/trailers will park against the south and southwest boundary during the event. Please return occasionally to this post as I will update it regularly as things firm up.

![]() We don't talk about that shit too much up here, but it's not a bad idea to think about what you'll do if you run across a bear. Any sidearm you can CCW easily is likely only big enough to just piss them off ... you better be a damn good shot. Personally, I prefer the bear spray approach. Hope that settles that. ![]()
