Here we go again... or get out your wallet
Next victim, finished should look like this if I go stock
![]() BUT....... mine looks like this................................ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes siree folks, your genuine basket case.... now if you all could chip in a little every pay day ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Got it from a friend who "gave up" after dissembling for $100, it looks all there and not much rust on the chrome so am no sure if we are going back to stock on this one or build a cafe out of it. I don't expect to start for another month but it's tempting to dive in, this is gonna cost!

If it's all there, go back to stock! ..but, man, did your friend keep the engine out in the yard? I've seen worse, though.
By the way, what model is it? I don't really know much about Kawasakis.

Found a doner bike for a modern suspension (1992 GSXR) that had a tough life ending from a wheelie gone bad
![]() let the debauchery begin ![]() had to give the motor back to guy who gave me the frame ![]() trial fitting the triple motor in the modern chassis just for shits and giggles ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok it could be done but the pipes are a huge issue, especially the center pipe.... the frame would need a healthy dose of cutting and welding and it's not old school anymore so instead ![]() The gixer front end is going on the Kawasaki then I am going to take a hard look at a swing arm swap and possibly go mono shock.

Today I got the blues...... someone use a tapered metal object to try and get the cylinders off ( a fucking chisel no doubt)
![]() ![]() Will have to see if a machine shop can weld these damaged areas up and mill it down or if I can find decent set of cases, some people should only be allowed to own rubber tools! Next challenge, both front fork tubes are bent.... suppose thats where throwing some more money at it comes into play, also the stem from the bottom triple is tweaked. ![]() this will also be going to the local machinist to discuss, straightening or finding a replacement stem to have him machine one up for me. How do you separate the stem from the bottom triple? ![]() Next problem is this brass screw broken and stuck in the carb ![]() easy out is the only thing that comes to mind.... I have been soaking it in a good quality penetrating oil while I mull it over. 2 cylinders are toast from bad mechanics so I am spending a lot of time hunting and getting depressed.... I really wanted to do this bike over the winter but may have to put it away until I can collect more parts ![]() ![]() If that is the way I have to go I will drag this out of the dark corner and do something fun with it till I have more parts for the original build. ![]() at least I know I have 98% of the parts for the XL and it wasn't taken apart by a caveman. Look in your basement for old Kawasaki H1 and GSXR parts for me will ya lads.
