In case anyone was wondering why we were sush pussys on a 6" deep water crossing. the bottom was rocks with GREEN slim. It was like walking on glazed ice. was very hard not to dump it if you were riding.

Oh you mean this D-Man ? My buddie DK didn't heed my warning and attempted to ride over it at speed. He went down and it almost took him out.

The old Yammies have a pretty low center of gravity so they were ok going REAL slow but we headed Big Dogs warnings and the KTM and Honda were walked over.

I am pretty sure that is the slickest stuff I have ever witnessed in my life. Mud is Mud, but that slim is flat dangerous. All in a day on the TAT.

My brother and I rode the slick stuff in late October. Vinnie is correct, worse than mud. Brother was on a GS 1100 and me on a KTM 950 and we rode them across all the slick sections. The one with the rocks like a staircase was the worst but nothing was dropped.

Well that's odd. Those are exactly my thoughts as I walk through my local Kawasaki dealership ...

I dont think I ever posted the post ride status of the Mountain Bike.

After the trip from Kitty Hawk back to Broken Arrow and a total of 5500 miles since the build had a few things to take care of.

The Mountain Bike awaiting a little TLC.

Started on the rear and worked my way to the front. I suppose after a nearly 450 plus final day to get back for a meeting I had pushed the sprocket and chain to the limit. I tightened it 3 times on the last day.

Used up for me, however, Questor could get another 1500 miles out of it.

Front was actually in pretty good shape.

To sum up the trip for the Mountain Bike. Replaced the tires with new Pirelli MT21's, chain, sprockets, spark plug, petcock gasket, gas line, gas inline filter and an oil change. Other than that, the old bike is ready to go and will be back on the Road Less Traveled soon.

My 4400 +/- mile 2-Stroke spark plug, probably should have put it back in the bike and kept going.

I have seen this plug in person and I can vouch for the fact that it is the best looking plug from a 2 stroke that I have ever seen. It looks better than mine at 500 miles on the same motor. It is tan where it should be tan, it is dark where it should be dark, the electrode edges are still very clean and defined. it could go back in and run another 5k at the rate it is wearing. Just UN-Freaking believable! When you get them right, the old 2 smokers are pretty reliable, and they just keep going and going and going......
