It just isn't the look, but everything else between the two...like the cheaper looking dash/instrument panel and switches on the R1200 GS series.

Which is why I'm not replacing my 2004 R1150 GS Adventure that got written off while touring in Austria. The first thing that came to mind was "what will I replace it with, an R1200 GS Adventure? Not if I have a choice!"

Luckily I have a spare 2003 R1150 GS Adventure for my future trips.

So the insurance money, was used to pay for a small part of my new-to-me Porsche Carrera. I have enough GSes and motorcycles anyways.

Lets hope BMW doesn't screw up the next generation of GS even more.

The crash Bar used to be complete but a minor offroadcrash resulted in crooked bars and we just never thought about removing the tank-crashbar as well. Here`s a picture of the bike with the lower crashbar installed ( we don`t know the make of the bars, the bike was imported from Germany with the bars installed):

I love this picture of a friend of mine, his old Williams and his new AnniversaryGSA

Why do you call this color combo "williams"

Yes, what the others said. North of Klamath a bit. A little trourist trap called Trees of Mystery. It is about 1 mile from the coast and the prettiest little rest stop on the 101 (in CA). About 20 miles south of Crescent City.

That`s the way it`s called here in Europe. Just like you say Kawasaki Concours when we talk about the GTR1000 and you guys talk about ST1100 and we say Pan European

The question may be WHY it's called that. What is the orgin of the "Williams" moniker. Any idea?
