Just before I went down in the snow

Having a little fun a couple weeks ago while we were all "snowed in and couldn't get into the office"

Taken just before I ended up on my left side with the bike on my boot, stuck like a turtle on his back or something...

Let go of my foot!

Taken transporting photographers around at the NZ Road Cycling Championships. Wish I could also do it at the Tour de France where the winner of this race will be wearing the black New Zealand jersey that winning the race will entitle him to wear.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/72335364@N04/13326950493/From Sydney Australia picked up a 02 non abs single spark GS adventure with 40,300km. Cam with new hepco and becker pannier system, mew kahedo seat and new Pirelli scorpion tyres and high watt headlight globes so I'm very happy.
Also had sump guard, crash bars and acrapovic slip on.
Rode it home 200km and loved it. Shaft smoothness!

only concern was initially when starting the starter was making a funny sound so that might need replacing soon.

I thought my other bike was big but this is huge!

Nice to finally get one as I had been lurking around for a few months.

Am I able to attach files, cos I am having trouble using the flivkr links for photos.

Welcome and congratulations! Sounds well appointed.

You'll enjoy a cornucopia of disturbing sounds. May they all be benign.

LOL! I'll second that! I usually use earplugs when I ride my '03 - but took a short ride yesterday without them... and I was like - but then I remembered I was on an 1150GS... and I was like

Congrats! They're great bikes!

Yep and I'll add a third vote to that. Mine is like a tractor, agricultural clunky gearbox, weird engine noises, still has the timing chain rattle AFTER I replaced the tensioner parts, noisy tires when cornering but ya know what? I can't think of a single bike I would rather ride at the moment. For lane splitting my Humgee is perfect. I sit higher than most of the traffic surrounding me, it's big enough that it looks intimidating to Fiats and Minis (so they get out of the way faster lest I fall on them and squish 'em) and in a city full of BMW, Mercs, Porsches and other mechanical wankery, it never fails to draw attention wherever I park with its big metal boxes and rugged charm. I think thats mostly the thing with adventure bikes such as these. When you see yet another Harley you know that they are just going down the highway for cruise. Nothing wrong with that. Then you see a guy on a sports bike and yep, he's also just going down the highway with his ass in the air and hair on fire. Nothing wrong with that either. But then you see us ADV guys wherever and personally when I do, I always wonder where he or she is off to or where have they been? These bikes just seem to evoke that gypsy, wanderer image to me and I love it! Welcome to the club.

I love the bike. Surprisingly my gear change is pretty smooth but every now and then gets a bit clunky.

My chain bike is clunkier ain't no smoother.

But especially love the look of the adventure. The landcruiser of the motorbike world!

Kind of looks like the hard bag might have saved his leg in this case.

But I get what you mean. I would prefer soft bags off road too.
