They Ain't Hacks

Nothing wrong with three wheelers illustrated in this thread. Sound engineering no doubt and serious fun, but they don't have that distinctive sidecar appeal. Many have that familiar vintage Morgan like appearance, so much so that again folk are suggesting copying issues. Like em, don't dispute their attraction, but much closer to a traditional open sports car.

Outfits, hacks, combinations, sidvagn, what have you, are part of motorcycling, and have that great quality. Individuality.

Awesome machine, technically stunning and IMHO quite beautiful, only problem is nowhere for Mrs.B, the offspring, dog and camping gear, but I'm sure that's not the point.

Badsey bullet from the late 70's early 80's. I think it had a Yamaha FJ 1100/1200 engine and went like Wile E. Coyotes rocket powered roller skate from the Acme race shop.

Actually, in the UK they technically are bikes.

Love these pics. I will build one of these some day - although you'll be pleased to know that will be *after* I build a sidecar.

TIG-welded mild steel? Whats up with that? Maybe a hell of a nice guy and a capable fabricator, but why in the hell - looks like there should be an engine under the hood, but... there's a V-twin hanging out there off the front-end? Ugh, just don't get it. I dunno, that thing just makes me want to puke.

There's a saying used to reply to people without a clue," If I have to explain it to you ,You'll never understand anyway."

...lots of clips on Youtube with these things. They are expensive, build quality looks good, and they go! All trikes and sidecars and motorcycles are licensed as motorcycles here. I like the older bodystyle better... not so out there.

On some tracks, the Morgans used to mix-it with the racing sidecars.

Retro fun or what!

Vortexau - Wow, thanks for that. That's some pretty cool retro racing. I take it that's recent?

In the still photo, the period should be evident from the style of the "conventional" racing outfit to the RIGHT of picture. In the video the outfits appear to be classic types being raced in a modern-day race for classics.

(Sometimes one would need to view a "Morgan" close-up to see if the motor is a J.A.P., or a Moto Guzzi as used in a MG3 (conversely, or a Honda CX as used in a BRA CX3))

There is even a dedicated Forum for this class of Three-wheeler:
