Why better quality?Longer lasting?
From what i understand the desert rear is a harder compound and less grippy on the road when water is added. What are the fronts like?

I found the front to be excellent on everything, even wet tar.

Desert has a higher speed and load rating.

I've had the Michelin Desert front on my TE510 and TE630 and was very impressed with the tire. I plan on purchasing another. The desert, besides having what I feel were good handling characteristics, also lasted much longer.

Wow. I guess the Terra is getting all the attention now.
Had to go 7 pages in to find the 630 thread.
After the 300 plus mile day that included a bit of everything, I would be hard pressed to find a more versatile bike. No way the Terra would have lived through what the 630 just railed through. That statement pertains to the weight of the bike and isn't a bash on quality.

Very happy w/ the TCI outback rack. Can run Wolfmans or Pelicans. I did add CJ's subframe braces. Recently switched to FMF slip-on which exactly off set the weight of the rack.

Just installed a fuel pressure gauge and blue led over speedo indicating power to pump.

Pleased with how it runs after adding the PC-V. Just got iBeat and couldn't improve on Dynojets map adding or removing fuel.

Before/after Power Commander.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Had a couple of big days on the te now and got 4200km after just 3 months of ownership.Pretty easy to dewater too if you got enough manpower.

Dynobob did plugging in the pcv make a noticeable difference to power or economy?

Second graph shows before/after PCV, you can feel the difference. I average around 48mpg, I had seen as high as 52-55 before the PCV.

Arrow pipes & the ecu box?

Hello!
I have been owning this bike for about 6 month, and i love my TE630.
I am from Sweden and have own Ktm 990 & 690e & also the Yamaha xt660z tenere.

The 630 is the best bike of them (for me)
Its' a awaysome gravel & trailbike & i drive it to work everyday also.

I have been thinkin' about to farkle the bike with Seat Concets seat & the Arrow pipes with ecu box.
Also thinkin' about put in Compression shims stack in the forklegs.....or maybe by new forklegs from te610..
its a bit taller than the 630 ies and they have compression adjusting.

What do you think about those things?

Not everyone likes Husqvarna LOL

The Husky really does suck a big hairy ass as a wannabe KTM that fell short. What a fuckin' retarded piece of machinery. Nothing personal though. Some people just can't afford the KTM they want so I guess the Husky fills that niche. Nothing personal in you having chosen such an utterly useless pile of junk of course.

Thought you fellas might get a kick out of such a rant. I did. Especially the big harry ass part.

Just had to do it.. got tired of burning up my expensive dirt only tires on the pavement or mounting substandard knobs for multi use.

Plan on mounting up a pair of Distanzias that I've ordered. Anyone have any experience with the Distanzias on hardpack graded dirt roads?

Nice wheels.

Distanzias will evaporate. The 150 rear I think is a harder compound, may do ok. If the front is a 17 it's a sumo compound, very soft. They work just okay, some will say pretty good. Never been a big avon fan.

Conti Trail or road attacks. The pirelli scorp trails are really quite good. The new dunlops are probly worth a try. Or just go for some good street rubber - PS2's, angels, BT023's etc.

Let us know how it goes...

Hi Mud Bone, I can't comment on the other things you mentioned (no experience) but the Seat Concepts seat is a nice and relativly inexpensive upgrade. It's so good that I just don't think about how uncomfortable my back end is anymore. The only thing I would change is that I ordered their 'Gripper' seat cover and I kind of wish I had gone with one of their alternates. It works and holds you in place pretty good but it feels kind of cheap. Take you time when putting the cover on, it takes a little wiggling to get it 'just right' and looking good.

The 150/60 rear is sumo compound. I hope to get about 2000-3000 miles from a pair of the sumo specific Distanzias.

Doesn't appear that the Pirelli Scorp, Conti trail attack or new Dunlops offer a tire in the sumo sizes I want.. 150/60 R and 120/70 F.

Read some positive reviews in several sources about the Distanzias but like any tire, rider skill, surface, temps, type of bike, intended use all impact results and invoke a multitude of opinions.

Have you personally used any you mentioned? the Distanzias?
