I really like my Safari tank; looks almost stock from the front; nice and narrow. Plus, it's terrific for Death Valley!

You're a bad man riding that by yourself...

How much water do you carry? Are you over nighting on the trail?

Well I started the whole trip with a mate but he had an off at 100 kmh two days prior to these videos and while not hurt seriously he and the bike were not in the shape to continue.

I did start a day with about 10 litres of water, which I replenished wherever I could (e.g. in that village in the video). I'm paranoid about dehydration as I have been almost finished by it and heat stroke few years back in the middle of nowhere in Kenya. I have overnighted on trail on this trip twice, but not on the day in the videos - I have started from very comfortable still huts and ended up in a community campsite at the end - the part 3 of that day is still coming.

Got a good license plate to go along with your adventure.. You are definitely pushing the edge of what most only dream about doing.

I have to ask what luggage you have on your bike in the last video? Haven't seen a 630 equiped like that. Definitely have to know how to ride sand in that environment.. could be challenging with a full tank of fuel.

I use the same luggage in all the videos - Expedition Pannierz from Andy Strapz (http://www.andystrapz.com/products-d...yId=22&Level=1). On top I have the 50 litre roll either from Ortlieb, or ATG (South African brand) - can't remember which.

I'm very happy with the bags. They are very functional, simple and rugged - as mentioned in one of the earlier posts, my mate had off on Tenere at about 100kmh on dirt, and bike landed and slide on one of the bags and the only damage was cracked buckle and one little hole of about quarter inch in diameter.

I have had custom steel racks built here as I wanted them more to the front than stuff sold by manufacturer (no passengers for me) and anyway it's probably almost impossible to get pre-manufactured staff for 630 in South Africa (there were 4 sold here).

I traded my 630 in on a new KTM 500. If anyone is looking for a 630, here's mine. I didn't want to go through the hassles of selling. It has the FMF pipe and JD tuner.

Nothing in this for me, but they are a great shop.
