New tag

It wouldn't be fair to make this one too hard to find.

I knew it was over that way, just didn't remember it being so far off of 49. I think I sat in that valve a few times as a small child.

I'm sure most of you know, but for those that don't and just so you do, these trails are for mountain bikes, hiking, and running only. No motorized vehicles allowed. And now that that's out of the way:

These trails are however the premier mountain biking trails in the state. A lot of hard work by a lot of folks has gone into working on them. The property is City of Ridgeland land that the club leases. For a small fee, you too can be a member and bring yourself, your family, your bike, your dog(s) on out and enjoy God's great woods. There is an annual race every fall if you just want to come spectate...but the mountain biking is crazy good if you have a bike and want to come on out!

So, the way I'm understanding this game, is that you have to be the FIRST person to grab the tag or you are considered "bruced"? Is that correct?

So, if I go place a new tag, then the next person that gets its, or the first after me, "gets the tag"?

Or am I missing something?

First, you have to find the previous tag and recreate that photo as best you can. Once you post that picture you have "grabbed" the tag. Then you go to a different location and take a picture of your bike at that location. The new pic becomes the new tag. Brucing is when you say you're going to grab the tag and someone intentionally or unintentionally grabs it and post the photo before you. Once you post your photo grabbing the tag then you can't be bruced but you may have bruced someone else.

I believe I said something about that when I originally posted the tag there...

Yep, I did!

Sorry babarnette, I didn't see your original post. There are great trails though.

Yep! The amazing amount of signage there at the trailhead made it totally clear (i.e., no motorized vehicles).

BUT -- where does everyone go to ride offroad? I've been exploring all over the area and can't find anything that looks open/not prohibited/not closed... kinda discouraging when I just want to get out there, anywhere, somewhere and practice in the dirt!?!

Maybe after I get the new tires installed this weekend we can get a group ride together somehow in the next few weeks?

I'm on my phone now and can't get to it, but somewhere in one of the threads about riding, is a link to a google map I made some years ago that shows a local dualsport loop that we made many years ago. It ties in many of the reservoir area gravel roads and is a good learning loop or a good "get me away from the house for a few hours" loop. If I remember, I'll post it tonight when I get back to a computer.
