Good question. The short answer is "no." The Patriots in '87 brought the team to the Air Force Academy the Tuesday before their playoff game against the Broncos. Team doctors told them that people need at least three to four days to acclimate to the climate. That decision was made by Raymond Berry who played against them in the '60's and felt the altitude was indeed a factor in player performance. He conducted team meetings and practices using the AFA's football facilities.
Did it help? I think so. The Patriots had a good team that year and were QB'd by Tony Eason. They played well until late when he threw a pick six IIRC. From my perspective it should all come down to physical fitness and since we're talking about professional athletes one would think they wouldn't require an adjustment. On the other hand I can tell you that it would be better to arrive the day of the game and play rather than arrive the day before. I'm no physician or sports med guru but deal with many people who fly into CO, conduct business, and fly out the same day. People who do that don't suffer the effects of the altitude. Those who fly up and spend a few days visiting clients notice the effects by day two and by day three it really hits them. |

It is a combination of altitude AND low humidity that get you here. You drink a ton of fluid, you just piss it all out and your body can't absorb it fast enough. It will be a factor for the Ravens toward the end of the first half and then again in the fourth quarter. They'll have to substitute a lot, and there will be confusion.

Trindon Holliday wears the same number as the great Karl Heinz Rummunigge for Germany in the1970's. Coincidence? Yes, I think so.
