Day trip: Panthers, Trumpets & BSA - Chesil Beach & Portland: UK
The south coast of England is an extremely varied place, here is a little taste of this afternoons trip.
Below is westbay, my frequent haunt. And me trusty Muell. ![]() Met Chris on my way down. Here is is Cruiser. He has a KtM 990 SM as well. Fekin Harley is loud, but cool. ![]() Whilst at the bay, I checke dout the other bikes and found a bunch of panthers and friends. Crazy old things ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Decided to bimble down the coast road to a stop off point that has some good views - an old look out tower overlooking the Lyme Bay & the Jurassic coast. World heritage site. ![]() ![]() Road down to weymouth then onto Portland and took these pics from atop of the high point - showing Chesil Beach ![]() ![]() Then down the hill to the beach - looking up from wence I came ![]() Chesil beach - from where it begins in the east - Portland ![]() A good afternoon out. Not life changing or new but quite something. Portland is linked to the mainland by a narrow bridge of land. It is a quarry and a prison- 'the Verne' prision is inside the hill - and a military base and is next the the 2012 olympics sailing site. Portland is a small town and has a atmosphere of its own. I believe there are still people there who have rarely left the tiny pininsula. Some good looking pubs there too.

What a great lot of bikes. Looked like you had a good day. Portland sounds a bit like the Portland in Victoria, that a stayed in briefly.
