FYI...

1. Below the video, there's a "share" button, click it
2. To the right of the link that appears, there's an "embed" button, click it
3. ADV doesn't like the new embed code, so make sure "Use old embed code" is selected
4. Select the size you want the embedded video to be, then copy the highlighted code in the box.
5. Paste it into the thread you want.

I'm an Arai guy, I've had other makes. But all my more recent helmets have been Arais. I need a new helmet bad, my current one is well over 10 years old and while in good shape outside its old enough to be scary. I'd normally just go pick out another Arai but the costs have gotten out of hand and I'm sure there are other makes out there that are of excellent quality. So I'm looking for recommendations on other options, especially from any other "Arai heads" out there. What do ya all like?
Note, I'm looking for both a pure street helmet and a DS model for off road.
Another Arai head here, specifically for street thus far though I am hoping to get an XD4 early next year. Thank goodness for June Bdays! I also have a Shoei street helmet I now mostly let others use when needed but it does fit well. It goes on much easier than the Arai and isn't quite as form fitting but does stay put. It is also a fair bit heavier than the Arai. I also use an O'neal 692 MX helmet that fits nicely and doesn't move around.

Also an Arai head....RX7-RR3, -RR4, then RX7 Corsair. Best fit ever.
But I also have an HJC carbon fiber, and my current regular daily rider, a Shoei X-11 that I picked up cheap when the X-12 came out.

All excellent lids, though the edge in fit goes to the RX7 Corsair still.

Yeah, riding side by side is stupid. It seems to be a largely pirate crowd thing. Emulating the local cops I suppose.

A review of the LVL 10 Gaming Mouse - by Geek on ADV.

Now listen here son... there are only two things from Texas... steers and ..
oops.. wrong opening.

There are two things most of us have in common on ADV...

1) we ride motorbikes
2) we use a computer mouse to navigate this website

Isn't it time you upgraded to a man's computer mouse and get over that little plastic thing you've been using? You ain't gonna ride an XR100 your whole life are ya?

Level 10 Gaming Mouse
designed by... wait for it... BMW group (yes really)

Features:

Well... before you take this man's mouse for a run you better set up your suspension. No worries it comes with the required tools.

First you have to set yer static sag:

Just like on your motorbike you can raise the rear

...or dial some out and lower the rear.

Now we've done that.. time to set some rebound and compression. You wouldn't ride your motorcycle without setting up such things right?

it goes this way...

...and that way....

ok... at this point you've already adjusted more things than the average KLR rider.

Now.. time to move on to the fuel injection system... making sure the motor is running just how you like it.

oh yeah.. did you notice the box in the top left corner? Yup.. not only can you turn up the polling rate, the DPI, the speeds, etc - but you can do them INDEPENDENTLY for both X and Y axis... so if your KTM spit you over the handlebars last week and f'd up your wrist.. you can adjust it to compensate for the limited mobility your cast is causing. This ain't no little girls mouse.

It ain't your granny's mouse either.

On the left side you have not one.. not two.. but 3 buttons AND the closest one is actually a 4 way adjustable pot. A couple of clicks reward on that pot and you've just turned this beast up to 5000dpi. Think you can handle 5000dpi? Not if you are PUI you won't.

Throw in a couple more on the other side and you are going to have to be on your A game just to remember what all this sh*t does.

The Control Panel has more graphics than Pic a Day (although not as many as Flug has motocross pics ).

Oh Snap! Your wallpaper just changed to a green one? Don't panic like Brad Felemy just did... you are a couple of clicks away from keeping your mouse color-coordinated.

Speaking of PUI...

PUI? No worries. They light up the important part so you know where to click when you can't see straight and are fixin' to type "Nuke this.. my mistake".
There's even a lit-up adjustable scroll wheel so you can spin that sucker down and just try and keep up with the new posts in PUAC as they appear.

Now if you'll excuse me.. I just set my mouse to army green and I'm going to head into the World of Tanks thread in Shiny Things and kick some ass...

p.s. *tic*

Cool mouse!

I have gone the other direction and reverted to a Microsoft Comfort Mouse, corded, laser, comfortable- no batteries -

Leigh: this one is corded too. although the cord is some sort of super subtle parachute cord

I used to use a cordless Logitech gaming moue an I just got tire of battery issues.

And I quit gaming, hanging up the Unreal Tournament gloves a while back.
