I bet I could make a plastic plate out for less than a dollar- maybe I'll make a few?

Got rear ended on the way to the airport on Tuesday. Traffic on I-70 was at a dead stop when all of the sudden I was "nudged" into the car in front of me:

Untitled

No breaks, no warning. After glancing off me, she continued on into a sign where her car then caught on fire:

Untitled

The fun wagon is in bad shape. Steering was all busted up and she was leaking a few different fluids:

Her insurance is supposed to call me this next week to let me know if it's gonna be a complete loss or not. I hope it is. I don't want that thing back after that type of impact.

Wow Rob, that actually sucks and blows at the same time. Hope insurance all works out for you.

Dang, sorry to hear about the accident & glad you are ok!

Any explanation from the driver who rear ended you? Texting, surfing, coffee spill, smoking or make-up?

I'm not sure. She didn't really say. She just said she "wasn't paying attention".

Did the cops impound her cell phone?
This just totally sucks.

I rear ended a girl driving a VW who was on her cell phone last week while we were both watching a man who looked like he was going to walk into traffic. She slowed to a near stop and then just sat there. I still had my eyes on the pedestrian and dented up the back of her new bug with my Dodge pickup. Did some significant damage to her VW sloping rear end, but the only damage to my truck was I lost my ADV sticker on the front bumper. Bummer, need to order a new one.

zombies among us

Glad you're all right man. I have the same truck- same color and all, tough to see pics of what it looks like smashed up .

Just a reminder for us to watch out for the zombies out there. Good luck with the insurance bs.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I actually feel totally fine physically, unlike a year ago when this happened to me:

This guy rear ended me at 30 mph on my way home from work

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the insurance BS again. It was a total nightmare when I got hit on the 990. That time I actually had a ton of medical bills that I needed covered. It was super fun trying to get my health taken care of after months of treatment...

I do that with my registration and insurance (minus the velcro) and carry them card size in my wallet. Have not tested that out on a cop out yet.

Wow, that 990 looks fitting for a road machine if it took the accident that well. Sorry man.

Man-that sucks. After getting rear ended by a deadbeat with no insurance, we upped our insurance to a 50 dollar deductible with an 85 dollar a day car rental. I figured with what the 500 deductible cost us with the additional rental, we could be hit every 5 years and break even-which I figured around here...would work out. Again-sorry...but ti appears she got her just reward.

Probably for the best. Not sure you'd be able to the smell out of that thing after Moab!
