There's a hole there regardless (between the grip and the hanguard)...I guess it's one less hole if that plastic cover is there but I'd want the plastic cover to block the wind if anything.

I took them off to put some muffs on. I think they look sort is mad maxxish looking without the plastic covers.

Never heard Jim the warning you gave before. I'll have to get motivated, buy some new screws and get then slapped back on.

I was thinking they'd be really good at catching a branch and funnelling it straight into your knuckles like that. No more of that "glancing blow" stuff.
