Hi Everyone - Nate at RallyRAIDio has asked me if I can phone in with some reports during the event - not making any promises, but I'll see what I can do...

Hopefully this link will be up and running during the event too:

Be safe have fun, Grimmy

Pissed All I got was this lousy poster....

Sorry I didn't get to see you off, Jenny - back from Paris on Friday, I hoped to come to the Monteils-Ales track to see the start, get some pics to post here, and wish you well. As it's about a 3hr drive from home, and on the same day as SE France started holidays (24hr road chaos), tried calling the organisers, many times on all the different numbers, and sifting the press and web to find out the timing, no reply or info anywhere...

So, figuring Ales was 80 kms from the ferry at Sete, the departure probably not before the afternoon, I took my chance, grabbed the nipper and arrived just after midday... to a ghost town. Local gossip says the boat from Sete was cancelled, the new connection from Barcelona, and the start much earlier for the longer drive - so I just missed you, and instead went sightseeing in Arles, albeit with some fun offroading in Le Gard (GPS says turn left on unpaved road, oh yeah !). I really feel for the organisers and riders, though this isn't the first time Comanav's last minute cancellations have screwed up a big event.

If anyone finds out what changes have happened, please post. The boat from Barcelona arrives in Tangiers (?), 300 kms from the original first stage start in Nador. I can't see them changing the course/roadbooks etc. so I guess there will have to be a new liaison to Nador, but I guess the timing will be tight.

Thumb

Thanks Molgan, and from the track map it shows they're in Almeria, so I guess they can get to the start point in Nador easily.

Thumb Call In

Jenny's rung in with her first call-in. The weather's thrown them a curveball thusfar, but the tone of her voice says she's having a grand time.
