good deals on Canadian F800GS?

what sort of deals am i likely to be able to negotiate for a new F800GS from the dealer?

im thinking they wont be selling many bikes now with the snow just starting here in Calgary.

so has anyone got a good deal on the price? or extras thrown in?

ive never bought a bike new before so dont know how it compares to buying new cars in which you can often save thousands...
thanks

I wouldn't hold your breath for a price break from a BMW dealer. I always feel like unless I pull out my wallet and lay it on the table (for them to determine wether or not it's fat enough that day), they won't hardly speak to me. Last winter when I ordered mine, they would have laughed and escorted me to the door if I started talking pricing. I hope you have better luck.

Calgary BMW Prices

Nah, no deals to be had. I am waiting on a 2010 F800GS. The suspense is killing me. The local dealer (BF) only has the Yellow ones left and without ABS, or OBC. These are options I want. These bikes sell like crazy out here so If you do find a deal PM me: I'm in.

So I'm waiting for mid November to Receive my Lava Orange F800GS. Then its time to roast the Credit card to get my online farkles.

I was in my dealer recently (Custom Cycle in Saskatoon) and the dealers would not even budge on the price. Telling me that there was no room for moving the price on a German bike...

Don't know if I totally believe that... But I guess I will wait until the times comes when I am going in to buy to push them a bit more...

Best of luck. Let us know what you find out.

I paid full list price for my F800GS earlier this year, but the dealer gave me a discount on all accessories at the time of purchase. Considering mine was a special order unit and they were moving tons of them, there was little chance of getting them to take a cut on the price of the bike. Your best hope would be to deal on an in stock unit they wanted to move out the door.

What Deal!

The 800 was the most awaited Dualsport in history. BMW will sell them all, no discounts needed. Looking for a deal, get a KLR or a DR.

obviously i want the BMW, and am willing to pay for it. i was just enquiring if there was any deals. because i would have been stupid to pay full price if no one else was.

Discounted price for a BMW?

After purchasing five new BMW's in the past ten years, I still don't get a discount on a new bike. (For the record, I won't be buying a new one any time soon, the First BMW I bought ten years ago still runs like the day i bought it, at 80,000 kms it's still running well).
Buy the best cry once.

(That's why my next bike is an ST1300 )

If you want a good deal on an F800GS get a dealer to sell you one... The sooner the better. Once you get it you will not want to get off

I ordered mine in Mar. '09 with ABS, OBC, Alarm, Center Stand, and prep with a discount of $865 CDN. This was part of an existing inventory order, but they did not yet have it in the store. At the time, they didn't have any ABS models left, only 2 non-ABS. They also offered $605 off of the F650GS. This was also 2 weeks after the Montreal Bike Show.

FWIW, I went in armed with local info on both Stroms and the Versys. I had a good idea of what was around and what could be had (lots of phone calls!). In the end, it was the 3yr warranty that sold me.

It won't hurt to ask, and just go in prepared with the right info (even prepared for them to say no).

If you're not in a rush, you just may be able to get a deal at the show which is usually early in January. My wife ordered her 08 F800ST at the Calgary show and they dropped the PDI and delivery charges. Its not much, but its something. I wanted my GS sooner than ordering at the show would have facilitated. It's generally about 4-6 months for special order units. I placed my order in October for March delivery.
