Moab - The Ultimate Ride

Passing through Utah, we stopped off in Moab to check out the scene. I got a buddy who owns DualSport Utah that we had met a few years back while covering the Red Bull Last Man Standing Race in Bulcher Texas.

Jim Ryan owns this touring company out of Moab and has been bugging me to stop by and go for a ride with him.

Well my wife and I roll into town and hook up with Jim. We spend a day just fooling around, hiking Arches National Park with Jim's wife and checking out the scene before we head out riding. He's going to be touring another couple who is visiting from Missouri that are both very experienced riders.

We all head out early in the A.M. to see what Jim has in store for us. Little did we know we'd spend the better part of 8 full hours in the saddle covering some of the best, most hidden single track this area of Moab has to offer.

We'd all be riding KTM's with everyone riding 2 storkes except for me who would be on a 450ex

The day was spent logging over 60 miles riding terrain that makes people sell their homes and buy a bike to take up riding for a living

Sand, Slick Rock, Slot Canyons, Dunes, Massive Hills, Fire Roads, Single Track.....You name it, we rode it!

When the day was done, I told my wife that "If I never rode a motorcycle again, I'd be satisfied because of toays ride!" But then again, after a day like today in the saddle, all I can think about is getting back out on the bike!

If and when you make it into Moab, look up Jim and ask him to take you out for a ride. Make sure you're good and warmed up before you call him though, or your arms wont be able to hold up for too long afterwards
