grab!

Had to warm the bikes up, so why not.

This is Inchalene, part of the historic Weymouth estate originally owned by the Boyd family, and on the market for 2.7 million.

More to follow. Somebody saw me and took a keen interest, so I casually drove off.

That happens a lot with tag games.

I know one guy who was detained by MP's for a couple hours while grabbing the Virginia tag at an entrance to a military base. Scruffy looking biker, early morning, KLR, you do the math. It's a wonder they let him go!

So I got there and casually drove by to check it out. There was a lot of movement outside, so I decided I'd pull over down the road, get the phone ready, and then approach from a better angle.

Upon approach, I realized that there was nowhere safe to pull off the road, so I tried here:

But, you can't really see the house for the trees. So, I decided to go for the driveway picture. I subtly pulled over, acted like I was messing with the bike, and tried to snag a photo or two. It seems the grounds crew knew better, and started to head my way.

On a normal day, I might have actually hung around and chatted with them, but it is motor maintenance day, and wifey said if I didn't have ink in the printer by the time she got home, I'd be in trouble. People tend to be amazingly nice around these parts, and I might have actually gotten in the gate for a better photo. Or, they could have been covertly looking for a license plate number to report me. Hmmm...do they really need a license plate number? I drive a red Ural, how many of those are around. No time to play games, so off to Staples I went.

So to make up for the crappy photos, I'll post the link to the Weymouth site to validate the tag.

New tag!

New Tag! Show me an old, independently operated movie theater. I'm not talking Carmike or Carousel Theaters, I'm talking old school historic joints.

This is the Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines NC. It was originally a hardware store when built in 1898, but became a movie theater in the 1940's. It still shows movies, one showing a day, one title per week.

The Byrd Theater in Richmond Virginia!
http://byrdtheatre.com

The Byrd Theatre was built in 1928 in Richmond, Virginia as one of the Nations Grand Movie Palaces and is both a State and National Historic landmark. Today it serves as an anchor for the quaint Carytown shopping district offering second-run movies for $1.99. And just as in the early days of the Byrd Theatre, you can catch a Saturday night performance of the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ prior to the movie.

GRAB!

I even got the young lady that was working the kettle to climb on for the picture! No extra points, but she thought it was "scary" just climbing on!

And now for something WILD!

That's right, WILD! In honor of this being a "Wild" card tag game, the
new tag is a sign with the word WILD in it!

New Tag

In keeping with the Thanksgiving theme take me to Jamestown.

Even though we are presented with "folk tales" about Thanksgiving each year it is routed in real tradition. The first known Thanksgiving celebrations were held by the Spaniards in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the early 1600s and Jamestown (our first permanent settlement) was known to have had its first Thanksgiving feast in 1610.

Jamestown it is!

That's the best I could come up with.

New tag: Show me your main street all dressed up for the hoildays...

Looking the other direction...

They were getting ready to roll the sidewalks up.
Remember, this IS wild card tag. If you don't live near A Main st. use YOUR main street!

Looks like the set for a low budget zombie flick.
