A grab or not a grab, that is the question?

Mister Deliberate
I really like your local landmark, but the tag was suppose to be a local waste water/sewage treatment plant/facility. What do you think I should do Mr, D?

Let's see how this goes. I want to see a place that helped YOU recover from a motorcycle accident. If it's too hard to get that I will amend it. This place helped me more than the dang doctors.

Oh, I see. I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to your requirements. Just belay my grab. Game on.

. Endorsed by Mr. Deliberate, the game is still on for a waste water and/or sewage treatment facility. Thanks, and I hope you don't have an odorous experience.

There's a pretty cool treatment plant on my UPS route, about thirty miles away and it's just about dark here. Tomorrow I'll be driving by that place and thinking of the lucky dog who can grab it on a weekday.

There are two waste water treatment plants within spitting distance of where I live...if it isn't got soon I'll grab it. Neither of them are any good to shoot at night or I'd go right now.

You weren't the only one that got confuzzled by this tag. I had thought when I first read it that we were looking for any local landmark too.

Southerly Waste Water Treatment NEORSD (Cleveland and suburbs)

Basically right across the street from my office. Luckily the prevailing winds is to our backs

Next up

Lets see your dirty gritty industrial side. I'm looking for steel mills like this one. Or the mines that supply the mills. Ill even take trains or barges carrying the raw materials.

This is the Arcelor Mittal Steel mill in the flats near downtown Cleveland. The large stacks flare blast furnace gasses and produce huge flames visible at night.

If we don't do steel (just not something that happens anywhere around these parts) can we substitute something equally gritty and industrial like chemical plant?

Gritty Industrial Grab?

They don't call this area the "silicon valley of the southeast" because we have a lot of heavy industry. Sure we have a lot of manufacturing but it's mostly assembly and doesn't deal in raw materials. Here even our poop comes out clean (at least on the surface).

Here is the dirtiest operation I can think of that deals with raw materials. It's the local Cargill plant -> Cargill the largest food producer in the world. Who knows what they are producing at this plant...but it can't be healthy with all the processing that goes into it...

The sun was in just the right place where everything looked clean and nice (uggh) My bike even looks clean even though it has a nice layer of filth on it -> it has not been washed in months and I ride every day regardless of the weather.

On my travels this afternoon I also drove by a rock crushing/quarry operation, an EPA superfund site (that's sure dirty), a dirty scrapyard (that looked clean in the crisp sun), the dirtiest part of town I'd ever seen (a wasteland of condemned buildings and missions just downstream from this plant and the superfund site), the dirtiest seediest motel in town (actually borders this plant), several dirty hookers, some dirty drug dealers (they were in the same neighborhood as the hookers just down the street from the plant), a whole bunch of dirty homeless people, and the most dirty looking store I'd ever seen and would not want to shop in.

Yep, today I ventured to the "other side of the tracks".

I feel dirty myself now and think I'm heading back out to have a nice ride in the countryside.

(If the tag is good I'll have something new up in a little bit...)

Looks good to me.

And what every you say, that is much much cleaner than the pic I showed.

I realized driving down into the flats today that Cleveland still has a good bit of manufacturing going on. I think the main difference is that the work is being accomplished with far fewer people than it had in the past, hence the significant loss of manufacturing jobs in the area.
That is a big operation though. The vehicles in the background of my shot have tires that are probably 10' tall and 6' wide. There is a truck transfer station just up the hill for liquids. It has probably 5 bays to off load liquids from semis. The pipes run down the hill in to the steel plant. You feel very small on a motorcycle down in that valley.

I figured you were heading to the (former) Mallinkrodt plant where they made Tylenol... Where the hell is that monstrosity you posted?
