Bridgestone BT-45, if they're available to you. Get the 110/90 rear.

ORexpat, those BTs are road tires. We are talking trail.
Besides going for a 110/90 instead of a 130/80 would not look very good (unless you meant front and not rear tire?.. )

Nice and warm down on the prairie but pretty chilly in the high country today. Still a lot of snow up there too. The loop was basically up Lefthand Canyon, north on the Peak to Peak Highway, then down the St. Vrain Canyon - one of my favorite quick local rides. There was a lot of sand on the road in Lefthand, but the St. Vrain was clean and traffic was light and I got to have some fun! The bike feels really good in the corners. Suspension is nothing to write home about but the spring rates feel about right for my weight. Maybe in the future I'll go for some Ikon shocks and Gold Valve emulators in the forks. Right now I just want to ride.

The bike is mostly stock except for the turn signals. It looks like a previous owner did a bafflectomy but it still seems pretty quiet. I didn't like the stock bars - felt like I was riding a cruiser - so I put on set of Bikemaster Euro bars that I had laying around. Much better. The seat gives me a numb butt after about 30 mins so for today I tried an Alaska Leather sheepskin pad that I had. It helps a little. I'll probably be looking for a Corbin pretty soon though.

My cable routing with the euro bars looks like this:

Kind of funky routing but it works ok. I'd like to come up with something better for the clutch cable routing. I really should trim the shims too, I suppose.

Fun little bike! I had a great time on it today.

Debby
I've also got the Euro bars, same cable routing, works fine. I cut an inch off each side to make them a little narrower, and installed Napoleon bar end mirrors. I cut the spacers in half, still work fine, and you can't see them.

Easy to see if the baffles still on or not. Check the mufflers' tips.

Sound evolves with age on a W.

Okay got it !!
Didn't want to assume... (and make an A$$ from U and ME as the saying goes..)
120/90... yeah well, I've seen it installed... too high and too narrow for my taste.

I wanted to try a trailmax, but in 140... Not sure it will fit...

Yeah, not really a dumb phone, more like a dumb thumb . . . or user.

The 120/90 works really well for me on the pavement. Turn-in, holding a line, etc.

The Dub would make a good street scrambler conversion--of course, you already know that! The geometry is fine for gravel roads. A tad heavy, and not enough suspension for rougher stuff (at least with me at the helm), but I've found that stability on fast gravel roads is quite good.

I've seen the videos of the Dub in the desert. Pretty impressive.

A 120 works just fine on the W, been riding BT45s for years on mine. But you're correct, it's not the OEM size.

Talking about tire size.
Anyone tried 150/70 at the back wheels?

It should be the same size:

Tire 1:130 / 80 R 18 Rolling Circumference: 2029 mm Diameter 665 mm

Tire 2:150 / 70 R 18 Rolling Circumference: 2035 mm Diff. (%) comp. to Tire 1 0,301 %
