With a heavy heart, I am announcing my beloved w650 for sale. It has only 6796 miles and is in seriously excellent condition. Asking $5500 in the NYC area, 2001, lightly modded, new quality tires and other extras, well serviced, green/cream, perfect.

Not bad at all... Low Bars, didn't go overboard with the mods, all in good taste... Price is high indeed, yet it's a pretty low mileage and the market talks.

Could you tell us how well the Dart fly screen worked for you?

I have one. Its a beautiful piece. Easy to install. No cumbersome bar mounts, and works to take the wind off your chest but does not really modify the air that hits your helmet. This is perfect because that air is then smooth and buffet free. Basically taking the wind off the chest reduces your overall drag and you don't have to pull yourself forward with the bars or your core as much. Perfect for touring on a naked. I have low bars, so YMMV if you have the stock high bars. I feel it is a great value considering the quality and comparing to other universal solutions. Looks awesome too! Can hardly see the mounts!

In other news. I test rode a triumph T100 at an open house here yesterday. In short, I made the right decision to search out a W650. The triumph felt huge, heavy, and cumbersome. It was smooth, and probably the better solution for 2 -up...but I was wanting a solo cafe-ish bike. The extra weight cancelled out the extra power in my opinion.

My problem now is that I test rode a Street Triple R at the same time. What a wonderfuly evil machine. It just urges you to go FASTER FASTER...laws are for sissies! It might have to join the stable methinks.

I second that.
The W650 is really a lively bike, much more reminiscent of a true vintage T120 or 140.
I had tested a carb-Bonneville and the decision was easy.

I mainly did it for looks. I don't think it was a huge improvement if at all in terms of wind or noise. I don't notice it around town and I haven't been on the highway much with this bike since I've installed it. It keeps the clocks cleaner and it looks very good. Fit and finish were excellent, like oem.

Flyscreen

Thanks for the feedback on the Dart flyscreen. I have the low bars on my bike so I think I may try the Dart before spending all that money on the Kawasaki W8oo fairing.

I felt the same way about the new Bonneville, it did not stay around long.
Not much fun to ride really.

I sense tickets in your future...
