That roadkill Easter Bunny will soon be an Alabama pièce de résistance in one of their better "restaurants".

I don't know which is funnier - Doug's bunny taking an asphalt nap, or Lornce's chocolate bunny conversation.

Happy Easter, Ya'll. I've got Boston butt and split whole chicken in the smoker, and a long neck Bud in hand to celebrate.

Thank doG my kid is too old for egg hunts in the yard now. But I did tell the Walmart cashier yesterday as I was buying some eggs and satin black Krylon that that would take all the muss & fuss out of coloring eggs this year.

Threadjack over...sorry.

Doug, have a great trip. I'll be riveted to the RR when it starts.

well, once again, looks like the garage will be closed for the summer. This garage anyhow, I have a buncha crap in my garage in Bulgaria.

Paul & I took the bike to Charlotte, as it was alot cheaper. On the way, we stopped & visited some friends & spent the night in Asheville.
This is Romanian Dan's chopped down goldwing. (called such, because he aint from around here)
I really like how it looks.

next morning, we dropped off the crate

this weekend, I was trying to get some stuff done around here, including finally gettin the motor back in the DKW, and getting Pauls Maico 440 wired up so the lights work, and get it runnin good.
this fucker found the bike here in town, from the original owner, for 200 bucks.
and he reminds me of this constantly.

Runs like a raped ape. thats alot of damn dirtbike.

That radial finned head looks like the old Maicos. Did they have any common heritage? Or was that just a design feature that worked for more than one manufacturer?

I'm ashamed to have to ask that question since I grew up and was riding enduros when those bikes were still almost new.

No common heritage other than their both being German. Those 'Old Europeans', like their Alabama counterparts, are keen on cross polination. The Hercules, which you may remember from the same period and from the same company, Fichtel und Sachs (sp?) also sported a radial head, tho less pronounced than that one.

You may recall too that the sachs engine appeared in the 100 & 125 Pentons, which were KTM's in drag. Lots of other bikes too.

Maybe they all got the idea from Zundapp -- a motorcycle whose name is similar to the noise that RTW doug makes when he thinks nobody will hear.

BTW, that Sachs engine (in the DKW) looks expertly assembled. I'll bet whoever put it together is what the cute little hotties these days call a boy toy.
