Another movie night?

Getting the "fever"..... Good thing Winter is almost over..... sigh...

Got a copy of "Day in the Dirt" in the sell DVDs at a shop in Billings. Most interesting parts are discussions with JN Roberts (lives up Birdseye). I do hope to meet up with this motorcycling legend sometime!

On any Sunday

Anyone have a copy of On Any Sunday? It was just out when I first started riding on my DT-1 and I remember it as inspirational to me and my riding buddies at the time.

Hey Bee, I have a copy of On Any Sunday and On Any Sunday II. On Any Sunday is one of the flicks we watched some of on movie night. Pushbars and I watched a few pieces of different things. Speedster stopped in, with Speedster Jr., and visited for a while. For the most part, the night was spent talking more than movie watching.

Ha. Nice. Too bad it's only a 9 mile ride. I wonder what they'd think if we road our bikes from Helena to Missoula to participate and then road home? Unfortunately, I'll be up in Big Sky all weekend. Would be fun though.

On Any Sunday...

I also have the first one and the set of 3 follow up ones that came out.

I can't believe that I missed it when it came out in 1972. I think it may have moved me to doing more with bikes sooner! But it is still a fun watch every Winter!

The video set that really did get me going more seriously was "The Long Way Round". A lot of people make fun of the guys (Ewan and Charlie) but by doing things the way they did they showed a lot of us what can be done on a bike and I know I'd have never started doing the riding I do without that push. I saw it exactly 3 years ago this coming weekend and I had my Dakar within 2 months......

Maybe we can do another moto video scenes and motorcycle chat night soon!

Happy New Year all!!!!

Those movies were great. I occasionally catch myself making fun of them and pointing out some of the slightly annoying aspects of their movies, but really, the movies are fun to watch. No arguing that. Good entertainment. I own those movies, too (Lond Way Round, Race to Dakar and Lond Way Down).

One just has to keep in mind that the way they were edited was for the mass audience on television and editing makes all the difference. Just think how many hours of film footage we will never see. They ran cameras the entire time and we got to see about 7 hours of it. Maybe there will be Revised Remastered extended play versions some day.

There was a big difference in the U.S. version vs. the international version of Long Way Around. The U.S. version was the first that I saw (rented it from netflix). It was, I think, only 7 episodes vs. the 10 episodes on the set I bought. Lot's of extra footage. I read that the U.S. "decison makers" didn't want it to run as many episodes so that edit was shorter. Amazing some of the things that were left off when you watch them back to back. Anyway, good stuff, Maynard.

Yep, I'm game for another movies night once the holiday hub-bub settles down.

Probably less of a handful than a 800lb cruiser!

That does look like a good time... too bad my bike is in pieces at the moment. I picked up some jesse bags, skid plate and crash bars for it and need to get everything back together. These pieces put me over half way in getting the bike ready for my 30 day Alaska trip in June/July.

I suppose with all of these parts and the new bike this past year I am part of the reason why it never has warmed up enough to clear the streets in the last month. The main roads are clear enough to ride though...

Excellent choice! They hold lots and also make for some nice side protection in case your bike gets tired and wants to lay on it's side (so I've heard....)! When I bought my Dakar used it came with Jesses!

Sounds like quite a Summer plan for you and the F800!

Now if it would just melt a bit more I could get to those clear main roads....

Supercross Party! Speed has live coverage of Anaheim 1 starting at 8pm on Saturday night (9th). Anybody interested in getting together to watch the race? It will go until 11pm. Ping me for details. Probably get some pizza/wings and I do have some adult beverages handy.

That's past my bedtime, but I'm in.
Mrs. Chadx is out of town so I'm free to roam.
