In case anyone is interested. I'm probably going to ride over into Arkansas to eat at the Parachute Inn. Probably leave early afternoon and be home around dark. I may have a kid on the back and if so I won't be getting any land speed records.

Here is a link to the restaurant. The dining room is literally an old airplane. I've been a couple times and it's pretty cool

Dunno which Memphis thread to reply to. Flipped a coin and ended up in this thread.

I bought a drz400 in February and am learning the ropes. Are there any decent places in Memphis for parts? I need a 520-110 chain. I guess the Dupont teflon lube I was using wasn't good or I did not lubricate it right, because this chain has stretched and is wearing out.

Was going to order a chain from a mailorder shop or eBay, but if there is a decent shop in Memphis, I'd appreciate a head's up.
Thanks
Jurgen

This thread works...
obviously local retail won't beat price of online. so I'd recommend that if you can wait on the shipping.

But if you want to get it locally there is cycle gear on Summer Ave for many aftermarket parts (they have website and free shipping to the store of things not in stock)

The local Suzuki Dealer is Performance Plus on Pleasant View for OEM parts you may need or dealer service.

My personal view on performance Plus: You may want to call the parts department and inquire if they have the parts in stock before riding out there. On multiple occasions, I've tried to support my local dealer, but 7 out of 8 trips to the their parts counter, they have not had common parts in stock for our BMWs. Maybe they have more Suzuki parts in stock. Good luck.

Try SKY(southaven kawasaki yamaha) just south of memphis.
Altho not a suzuki dealer, most of the parts guys actually
ride/race dirtbikes and their knowledge and experience in this
area can be worth way more than money.
They'll have your chain.
I dont know of another parts person at a motorcycle shop in memphis
that rides dirt(sad but true)
If your gonna buy it at someplace like cyclegear(where knowledge +experience is non-existent) might as well just get it online and
save a few bucks.

p.s. w/o knowing the whole story, I suspect you're overtightening the chain,it has a bind,or etc....or just normal wear

Good points...I was never vouching for knowledgeable staff...just purely parts, I've been given wrong information so many times at these sorts of places that I don't even bother asking opinions... or help I just want them to check me out and let me go. Its hard to beat experience and advice from a sales staff. Glad to know they are still out there. (though few and far between)

That's ok, were kinda off the beaten path so. Give us a try, we are a full service machine shop too and do all types of welding and motor machine work. I could be talked into a meal with some motorcycle hooligans sometime.
