Oklahoma TAT
I have just gotten the charts for the Oklahoma TAT and plan on riding it sometime during the last 2 weeks of April. Will nail down the exact dates based on weather outlook. Trailering to Fayetteville, Ark. and riding from there and returning to Fayetteville to trailer home. It looks like a 4 or 5 day trip. I plan to stay at hotels, but you are welcome to camp if you would rather.
Anyone interested in joining me? I am totally flexible on scheduling ![]() Mike 901-496-4514 |

Go West.......
Are any of you FF's up for an EPIC ride this summer?
I want to do the Forever West Trail. This was a ride done by Docking Pilot and friends back in 2010. The route was put together by western riding Uber Trail Meister Tony Huegl. It is a roughly 2500 mile loop that runs through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah, with a little slide into Nevada. Right now I'm in the early planning stages. The final decision to go will be VERY dependent on money. My oldest informed me the other day that he may need tuition help. If that turns out to be the case then I will be doing a trip to Idaho not the full tour. This is the plan so far. Leave Memphis on Monday Aug 6th. Travel 3 days to Rawlins Wyoming via the super slab. Join the Forever West Trail at Rawlins. From there ride the route until it gets to Idaho Falls, Idaho. I have family in Rigby so there will be a stop there and we can explore some of Idaho for a few days. The Klim headquarters is in Rigby and they have some hard core adventure riders who can give us tips on places. After that, back on the trail again north into Montana, over to wyoming and back down to Rawlins. From there it is 3 days back to Memphis, arriving on the 28th. That makes it one day over 3 weeks. I am planning on riding the whole trip (thats why I bought a GS-Adventure) but if you wanted to trailer bikes we could try and make arrangements to store a vehicle and trailer in Rawlins. This will be camping for the bulk of the trip, but I am planning on staying in hotels in a couple of area's. My cousin has told me the Grizzly activity is WAY up in the Idaho, Montana, Wyoming border region. I'm serious about this trip. I'll ride is solo if I have to, but if any of you FF's what to go I would like the company. Take a look at Docking Pilot's ride report and see what you think.
