That's a really cool bike, but clip-ons and a Heinrich touring tank just seem like an oxymoron to me.

I guess he is going for that 1950s look. Race bikes tended to use big tanks in those days.

Cafe Racers! Pah!

Darth Vader road an RT (well the actor who played him sat on one once)

I stumbled across this site. There's some great airhead pictures on it. Makes for an interesting read as well.

i really like the way Rimto in Japan does the the airhead mods, subtle and performance oriented with focus on keeping the look of the bike the same and updating the handling, he also does some really nice stock restorations

some nice weight saving tips here also, many components removed and or switched for alu ones. even tanks are made from fiberglass or some type of non metallic materiel.

stock R65 conversion to GS anyone?

beware, this type of lust is extremely expensive, just check out the parts he uses

the guzzies aint bad either, airheads right, gotta love em!

would love any of those machines in my garage! I am not ashamed to say ill be stealing some ideas from Rimto for my R80/7

...I dig what wrenchmonkees are doing, recycling old bikes, making them cooland all. It's almost a green thang.
Not so sure I'd be up for buying parts from them tough. Kinda defeats the purpose of building your own bike...

There was an R65 G/S, but they were far from common ... my sieve like memory recalls something about them being used by the Danish military ...

However, whatever the original bike was, that bike is a long way from stock ... unless someone else knows better
