Thanks.

I prefer the extra grunt from the 1000. The 800 is lovely and smooth at higher revs but to me they always feel like they're tinkling along. the 1000 just digs down to it's boots and gets on with it.

There 'aint no replacement for displacement, eh?

On the other hand, I'm more than happy with "Florence" as she is ... 205, I know, but it was a great day out ...

If your happy that's all that matters. That's a great picture and a nice looking bike. I love those early bumblebees.

I have to admit ... I am completely smitten with the R80. My R100RS was/is a screamer ... but that R80 is just smooth and plenty capable. .

The R100 doesn't have super get up and go at lower RPM's ... where the R80 does. (This is more of a final drive issue, really). The R100 is no where near as smooth as the R80. For some reason the R100 just feels heavier than the R80.

Just my opinion of course ... and don't get me wrong ... I love them both.

I wasn't knocking the 800 at all, it's a fine engine. I just prefer the 1000 myself.

No knocks taken at all. All in good fun ... besides if I want to hit the highway it's the R100 all the way.

But you can take credit for the execution!

Oh, 1970 R60/5, outside at work.

And the 1977 (late) R100RS up on stage at the Lucha Libre USA show.
