My bike fell over while parked last November. Lots of scratches, nothing actually broken, major paint in the bum. I placed an insurance claim and got a cheque to cover the damage, thanks to a very reasonable assessor. It's taken what seems like an eternity to get the bodywork repainted, but fortunately the results were worth waiting for IMHO.
Along the way the dreaded scope creep kicked in, and the opportunity to attend to a few things that hadn't been urgent suddenly presented itself. So, along with a full set of replacement bodywork, the bike also received a later "big tube" swingarm, a pair of "Jim Cray" Keihan S/S mufflers and a set of S/S headers of unknown origin, a new seat, a s/h instrument housing in mint condition, and a pair of cast iron disks which i machined out of a pair of car disks on my lathe. I also popped the heads and barrels off and replaced the pushrod tube gromments, as one of them had split and was weeping slightly. The photos are crappy, taken on an overcast day. The bike is a matching numbers 90S, euro '76 model fitted with alloy indicators, just because I prefer them to the plastic ones. The hand-painted pinstripes are red, not gold, and taper out where they would otherwise pass through the silver on the fairing, front guard and rear seat cowl. The black has a subtle gold metalflake in it which only shows up when the sun hits it. Anyhooo, here it is: ![]()

Some sort of Subaru air filter cover? It'll be going where ever you go now. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh too - went past the end of your road on sunday, should've dropped in for a perv.

^ To me, it looks like the air filter lid from my old BMW Bavaria, or maybe a 3.0CS. God, that's a nice bike!
