My '78 R100S mini face lift
Brought it home last Oct...
![]() Did some paint, had the snowflakes powder coated, new tires, and threw a National Cycle windscreen on it. Not a correct S bike, p.o. did not have the correct items. Thats ok for i'm not looking for a show bike, just a nice clean daily rider. It has been a blast!! Put it back on the road last January.

1982 R80/7 TIC (UK police). Exhaust was rotted. Rear suspension shot. Rockers leaking. Carbs leaking. Brakes awful. Tyres hard & cracked. But frame numbers matched and mileage seemed genuine at 32,000 with MOT's.
![]() My goal was to get a sportier riding position courtesy of RS handlebars, and to highlight the beautiful boxer engine. I added the older airbox cover to create the square engine block shape from the pre-1981 bikes, and moved the battery to create some open space to lighten up (visually) the back end. I also wanted to shorten the seat and lighten the mudguard shape. Here are a few pics I took yesterday. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice looking bike.
Where did the fenders come from, if you don't mind my asking ? ( I'd love to have the seat you're no longer using) |

That's rather tasty. Excellent job hiding the wiring and battery too!

Thanks for the positive feedback! Although I'm already contemplating a tank respray ![]() @Kai Ju: fenders\mudguards are from flatracer.com - short stainless front, medium stainless rear from a triumph. Both sanded gently with 400 grit to get a brushed effect. Got the exhaust from them too Kunst screwed with this post 07-24-2012 at 06:47 AM |
