Thanks for those, Prutser, I was especially interested to see how you have mounted the Acewell unit.

I`m having an R100GS special built for me at the moment and will be using the traditional shape unit mounted into a Britannia Composites fairing.

I like the minimalist look around the front of your bike with no fairing, but in my case I sometimes need to do long highway kilometres, so a screen of some kind in needed.

It may be some time before I get to ride it though, as I sustained a sprial fracture to my left Fibula a couple of days ago.

Good luck with the recovery.....

I build this bike for someone that wanted a replacement for his F800GS.
For traveling from western Europe to India and Thailand.

There are tool tubes mounted behind each pannier rack.

I would never have caught that looking at the pic, and I'm embarassed to say I used to do tech inspections at trackdays.
Not an aircraft wrench, though that would be fun. I make bicycles, or did. School starts in a week... I'm not the greatest mechanic, but I like to learn and then do things the right way. It takes time, you know. I wasn't lucky enough to grow up with this stuff. Oddly enough I learned how to safety wire from a Shimano bicycle disk brake instruction sheet maybe ten years ago (their tech manuals are actually quite good, which you don't see too often).

That tank has to be from a 60's BSA 441. Interesting!

Recent visit to Long Island with the Airhead

Here is a couple of snaps during a recent vist to eastern LI.

First shot is the airhead on ferry from Greenport LI to Shelter Island. We rode out on the North Fork. Come to find out all the LI potato farms are now winery orchards!

2nd picture is the four corners of Bellport right next to the Bellport Deli.

Sure do miss those fresh Deli sandwiches and great NY bread!

And the fantastic Italian bakeries!

The bike ran great as usual and good time was had by all!
