This Café looks really mean! Love your seat, and the tank looks pretty cool. I hear that even with clearcoat, a bare tank will rust. Did you take any special precautions?
I would love to see more detail shots. I have been thinking about a mirror like that one. Any photos showing the bars and grips?

Thanks!

As of right now, the tank isn't clear coated. I just wipe it down with WD40 after everyride. Not quite as shiny as the day I stripped it, but there isn't any oxidation showing. Part of me really likes the look, but after cleaning everything else up, I think I'll eventually have it painted. Not sure on colors, but I'll definitely keep the same layout.

I tried to take a couple of pics to show off the bars. I apologize for the low light cellphone pics, but I'm leaving on a trip first thing in the morning and I'll forget if I don't do it now. I'm using woodcraft clip ons and the standard BMW controls. Mirror and bar end turn signals are from Dime City Cycles.

noticed that the headlamp was on a little crooked after i took this pic... fixed it already

Good shot of the jugs. Painting between the fins turned out even better than I thought it would

Great looking bike!!

I have a bare tank on a CB750, I used an oil that is usually used for boats, it acts the same as paint. It's called Owatrol, not sure id it's sold in the USA.

I redo it about twice a year and it stays really nice!

OOOOOOOOOO LA LA!
man I love what you did with the black paint between the fins, never seen that trick done but it makes so much sense with the rocker cover already like that! That looks SWEET!

Oh yeah, just kinda got carried away there, but that is also one nice looking GS! Must be fresh from a rebuild...nice and shiny like. Now it needs some dirt!

GSD4ME,

I think I speak for us all when I say I hate you, I truly hate you....

PS - Where'd you get the stainless oil cooler lines made, been looking for that.

Bonding. They've been good playmates together. But I do notice the RT follows the R100's lead.

Similar to penetrol? Ever tried just a straight clear coat?
