Johnny - you need to smooth sheer power of the standard 800cc 50bhp motor - to squeeze you out of that good old Yorkshire mud

none of that fancy Sieben "rock & roll" stuff - "speedway helmets", stickers, numbers and all the stuff
(I am only jealous as John G promised me a go on the thing before he sold it)

LOL.......

You can still have a go anytime you want, Bill

Horses for courses

I've never had a lot to do with Airheads and don't really know all the ins and outs.............bit of a noob

However I considered the PD and maybe Baisc and whilst they're iconic in their own right, with a plethora of addicts to their renowned qualities..........

I thought for me that they'd be too similar to the 1150Adv (not in temperament but be more road going biased)
Therefore I wouldn't use a standard bike as much, but take the Adv.

However after mulling it over, I bought a tricked Airhead, because a) It was available and b) It was at the other end of the Boxer spectrum to my Adv and c) Because I loved the HPN type specials and like their minimalist, purposeful nature

So there we have it and if I have a Airhead bike which will take me offroad to where I want to go, i'm happy and it suits my offroad bias

Johnny

Dont get me wrong - I think that you have a great Bike - my comments are, as usual, "tongue in cheek” –no negatives implied

what did you have instead of Airheads

I bought an XT 500 last year - with the intention of bringing out to France - but I have never bothered as I did not fancy riding it 1,000 kms and am always in too much of a hurry to trailer it out here.

Cheers

Bill

PS – get off your computer and do some work – no wonder interest rates are increasing!!!!

I know you were joking, Bill

Instead of Airheads??
Well I've had XR's/KTM's etc and Trials/Trail bikes too

XT500's are very nice, I remember riding a HL500 Moto-X version in the early 80's..superb bike and reminiscent of an airhead (slightly)

When you coming out to ride it??

It's a bit far for me these days (and at my age etc) - down the local shops these days is about my limit!!!!!!!!

Gods own country - you guessed I am a Yorkshireman

The last time I was up there the weather was fantastic - rode back to Winchester via Kirby Longsdale etc on my GSA - and after two days on the Bike was well and truly cream crackered

Cheers
