Gawd I love SR500s, it looks much better with spoke wheels but either way she's a beauty. I WILL own another some day.

I've always had a soft spot for thumpers, the Ducati bevel drive single is a work of art.

I think I'm going to like this forum.

Yes please. Any R69S just lying around gathering dust....I can probably take off his hands

Two Strokes Rule

Drif10,

I just picked up an '82 RD350 last week here in S. California. Can you PM me? I'd like to ask questions about yours.

Terry

How old do we go ? This is my grandfather on my dads (at the back of the photo) Matchy. Circa mid 50's. They both had bikes but mainly indians & matchless. There wasnt a lot around then. My dad still talks about serving with the yanks & them letting him & his mates borrow their army WLA's for a day out on a bike. They were just dirt farmers & to have a bike given to them to ride when the wanted was alright by them they reconed.

1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador, also has a sidecar. Rescued last year from cobwebs & neglect, covered with about an inch of windblown red Sedona, AZ dust. The original owner bough it new -- gift to himself for his 70th birthday. Rode it up & down a dirt road near his house, followed occasionally by his wife in their car, to "keep an eye on him." Don't know why she didn't ride in the sidecar.

Probably terrified of the contraption.

Ambassadors are looking cooler and cooler in my bok, the more I see them.

Chopp edit: I hit "edit" instead of "reply" I restored the original 00 message. My bad.

What I meant to say was....

Ambos and Eldos are mostly samey same as far as looks go. Eldo has the 5 speed and 100 more CC. The trick bit is to put an eldo crank and pistons in the ambo

What are you going to do to it? Doesn't look like it needs a resto . . .
