Just brought this home today and I'm pinching myself that I feel so lucky...
About 10 years ago, I had a '74 R90S for a few years. It had been repainted solid black, and had Lester wheels, and I can't for the life of me remember now why I got rid of it but I've always regretted the decision. Now, fortunately, I've gotten a second chance- and to find one this nice (and in basically my back yard) and along with that, to have my long-suffering wife give me the OK- well, it's pretty cool. Speaking of cool- the ride home (34 degrees) featured strong winds and snow showers. Still, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. It's going to be a long winter.

My buddy Scott pulled to the side of the road to check out this old bike that was being parked on the side for trash pickup by owner who bought it new in 1965. He was too old to ride anymore, and figured the bike was too... after all, it still had the original tires...
New gas, oil and battery, and she fires right up and will do 60 down to the local Stewarts! ![]()

Some how I ended up with this after some horse trading last Spring. She was "refreshed" from the ground up a few years ago and is a joy to ride...or "drive" maybe I should say.
Added a tank rack and some soft bags, borrowed the windscreen from my hack and turned it into a short term touring bike to go through Yellowstone over the 4th. of July. Ran an effortless 500+ mile day. Effortless for the bike anyway. I'm finding that 500+ mile days are too tough on me anymore. ![]() |

![]() Just rescued a 1981 Yamaha TT500 from my uncle's shed. Sat for 10+ years. Threw in a new set of points, cleaned the carb, flushed the tank, put in new oil and filter, then fired up 2nd kick. Beginning to make it into a new dual sport ride.

In the spring I was at a bar when a guy pulled up on one of those, and it being an old bike, I had to talk to him.
He said he got it for $1200.00 a few years ago and had put 30,000 miles on it with just oil changes and a few other minor service type things. I do not think they make them like that any more... $1200.00 is chump change for such a clean bike! I do not know what they normally go for, but it sure seemed like a great deal on a cool bike. Me and my dad back in '74 Honda CB350f
![]() Me and my son a couple years ago, same place, same Honda ![]() Man I look fat... FWIW, I had a helmet and jacket and my son rode with my wife in her car to the place for the pic, it was in front of my old house, but I haven't lived there since '88 so it was kind of an odd feeling. But the bike was bout new in '74 by my dad, who sold it to my grandfather who rode it for years before he sold I to my dads older brother who then sold it to my dads younger brother, where it sat for some 8 years before it was offered to me, I have since given it to my brother after I bought a BMW. It was a great bike, I used it as a commuter and it served me well for a couple years.

It's a Wixom "Ranger" fairing it's always been on there, I did take it off to see what it was like, I wasn't pleased with all the buffeting, So it went back on.
