Don't you think that if Noriyuki Haga wouldn't have gotten hurt that Ben wouldn't have had a chance? Those Ducs were pretty fast!

A championship hinges on how you navigate thru the tough times. Ben had some bad days, and Nori had some bad days. But in the end, 11 poles and 14 wins were a pretty dominating performance. That it was as close as it was says a lot about Haga's perseverence.

Yes we do. Not only that, but if Ben hadn't had such bad luck, he'd have clinched earlier. Head's up in a strait race without points, Nori vs. Ben was probably pretty even this past season at any given track. On the other hand, Nori has a history of giving his championship away. He overcame for awhile and was awsome. But in the end, Nori lost it himself as usual.

Doesn't seem to bother him, though, so it doesn't bother me either. Noriyuki Haga is a legend in our time. He lived up to every bit of it this season (good and bad) and we got to see history. He'll be back at least for one more demo. He's still the favorite and he'll give us the show next year we've come to expect.

Nope. Ben won the championship against some big odds. He rode every lap of every race with one goal ,to win. He had his share of mechanicals, being punted off the track , once even by Haga's own team mate. He over came everything they could throw at him and won the championship.

The Moto GP boys better brace themselves there's a new sheriff in town.

I don't expect he will have it easy...but he may just beat the other former WSBK champions there!

Well that may be sarcastically so, but I bet they are not trusting their farts as much as they used to.

I'd put money they are

I doubt they've even given Spies a second thought.

Congrats to Spies but I will miss watching him mix it up with Haga, M Fab, and the rest in SBK. I hope he can bring that level of excitement to MotoGP because, frankly its just not as exciting to watch. However, this season was a big improvement over the past couple of years.

Rossi has already complained about Yamaha signing Spies as well as Lorenzo. Too much competition.
