Phillip Island Moto GP - Friday practice day
At times there were some bikes on the track
and some in the pits
and there is always a Ducati
and some nostalgia in the show 'n shine
a mate of mine had one of these when we were at secondary school. He paid $50 for it!
the new BMW S1000R at the bike expo
plus the Honda VT1300 CX
being GP rider perk #1 (blondes)
some planes went overhead
some bikes were on the track
people queued for lunch
people stood and watched the track
people started up Moto GP bikes
guys in overalls wearing headphones measured the track temperature
traditional Australian cultural icons were on display
the Doctor went out to play
so did Casey
Pete was falling way behind. Usually at this stage he is well over 1.0 (no he was not driving!)
Clea brought the chocolate and peppermint fudge with double cream for afternoon tea.
Wayne Gardiner popped in to have his photo taken
some more bikes went out on the track
being a GP rider perk #2 (your own boot cleaner)
being a GP rider perk #3 (your own mechanics)
bikes were still out on the track
there was activity in the GP Paddock
the pit walkers came along again
Rob Phillis looked overdressed doing a couple of laps on an electric bike
the Suzuki girls came past
and we decided it was about time to head home.

Great photos K1W1, looks like you've got a nice spot there. Love the Triumph, what a beauty. Hard to believe they made them like that straight out the factory. No wonder motorcycling became somewhat popular. You'd own that over a wall hung painting any day of the week. The XXXX pub is a great idea. Casey looks like he was moulded into the bike. Wayne still looks fit as a bull. Lovely looking waitress. Did you give her a tip? I'm guessing that blokes cleaning seagull blood and guts off the boots. I hope they aren't planning on selling the Zero bike on it's looks alone. And finally, the Suzuki girls are class, always have been, always will be. Top report. Keep them coming. If you do requests, can the masses please be graced with one solely dedicated to the grid and promo girls, with or without your hairy mates hanging off them?

Great photos, thanks for sharing. I have never watched a GP live. With your photos I feel myself in Australia watching it near the track

Yes, I have a Dakar problem -- that there are 50 weeks of the year without Dakar!

Beautiful Pix! Thanks for sharing!
When I die, I want it to be on my 100th birthday, in my beach house on Maui, and I want my husband to be so upset, he has to drop out of college.
