Ulysses vibration under hard acceleration?
You'll have to forgive my new Uly owner lack of experience as I'm just coming up on the 1000 mile mark, but this weekend during some two up riding, I noticed when under harder acceleration I would get a strumming vibration under the seat and in the bike in general. This morning on my way to work I noticed that same vibe (turned rear susp back down) when under hard acceleration as well. I don't recall it being there before, but it could also be that I'm just riding it harder than I was and or the engine/etc is starting to break/settle in as I approach 1k.
Thoughts? Or am I just being a paranoid new owner.

I found this same thing as I used to ride multi cyl sport bikes. It only seems to occur at lower revs.
Nature of the beast I guess. |

That's to let you know in about a second you'll be bouncing off the rev limiter and it'll be time to shift.
I believe my Uly vibrates somewhere in that rev range too. Always has, hope it always will. -darrell |

So in neutral when you rev it can you tell if its as bad? Or just in gear?

Other possible cause of a (relatively) high RPM vibration like that is a loose primary chain. They should check the adjustment on that as part of the 1k service.

From 5500 on though, it smooths right back out all the way to red-line. But, thats just what I've experienced on my '06. 23,000 miles. -darrell |

It is hard to answer your question with out sitting on your bike and comparing it to other Ulys.
You asked about the front isolator. It is possible it's bad but I would be surprised. It's time for your first service. The primary chain gets adjusted then, which will cause vibrations if it's out of spec. Check the straps that hold the muffler on and make sure all 3 of them are still there. My guess is nothing is wrong. Got someone you can swap Ulys with for 15 minutes?

4500 rpm
Mine does exactly that at from 4500 - 4700 rpm. I can't say it's HARD vibration; but it's definitely more than at any other rpm. My old Honda shadow did the same thing, but at a different frequency. I just chalk it up to the way the engine's made. Perhaps a harmonic? After about 11k miles, my Uly calmed down quite a bit. The shadow had it the whole time I owned her.
But if it's really a HARD vibration, then it's quite possible something's very wrong.

My SV had a similar issue a few k back - turned out to be out-of-synch throttle bodies. I synched 'em and haven't had a problem since.
Not sure if that applies to the Uly or not but figured I'd throw it out there... |

I have had maybe the same thing for several years, no better no worse over time or miles. It is not a real vibration as much as a strange almost minor grinding feeling. Same w/new rear bearings, 3 different types of tires, new belt etc. Originally when I posted several years ago it was suggested that perhaps the seat is somehow picking up some form of vib from the rear cyclinder. I have gotten to the point that I just consider it one of the characteristics of the beast.
