I might have mentioned it before, but here's a couple of good reference websites. Both are sub-categories in the Impala SS forum.

Roadmaster-specific
http://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...splay.php?f=33

And a general GM "everything that series B-Bodies" wagons sub-forum.
http://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...splay.php?f=21

Lots of good knowledge there.
Like how to convert to the 5-speed manual from an F-Body.

How about a 6-speed, 500hp (dyno'ed at the rear wheels), forced-induction-under-the-front-bumper, two-racing-seat, massive-suspension-upgrades, true-dual-exhaust-dumping-front-of-the-rear-wheels,

Semi-Sleeper!

If you see THIS in your rearview, don't bother getting out of the way, he'll find his own way around.

Answers the question; "What does a former Can-Am Racer use for a Grocery-Getter?"

Cropped to cut out his L.P. #. Why I bother I don't know, I think the Highway Patrols of three States already know him.

And Thank You for the other link. I sold my Roadmaster, but I think that's a cult I'll be back to someday soon. Maybe RM, maybe Fleetwood.

From 1968 to 1972, a 350 cubic-inch V8 became standard with a larger 400 cubic-inch V8 from the 442 muscle car optional in 1968-69 and a 455 cubic-inch V8 from the 442 available from 1970 to 1972. Transmission offerings through the years included one of two automatics—the two-speed Jetaway (1968) or three-speed Turbo Hydramatic (1968–72), or very rarely, a standard three-speed manual with column shift or optional four-speed manual with floor-mounted Hurst shifter.

Is that a home made 442? I didnt think Oldsmobile ever made a 442 wagon

Lot's of "what if" Muscle-Wagons out there. Some are purely cosmetic, some are set up like the option package they're trying to clone.

Also, don't forget that IF you knew your way around an option sheet and IF you had a sympathetic dealer, you could sometimes have a wagon built to the same specs as its Muscle Brother, just without the Bling (that COULD be added by the owner or dealer), but it would never be a "real" 442/GTO/etc.

Especially w/ Chrysler in the sixties. Saw an article once on a Hemi 4-speed wagon, don't remember the body style it was in.

Even AMC had a few "C-Code" wagons built. 290, 4-speed, big brakes, etc. in the late 60's.

Went to the Antioch, CA BilletProof Show today. Got drenched, but saw some cool cars. I was trying to have my Edsel there, but it's not ready yet.

I mostly took pictures of wagons since that's what I like, a few other cars that caught my eye.

My favorite wagon from the show, 1958 Studebaker. I'm not into pink cars, but this thing was awesome!!

I don't think I've ever seen one of those in person before.

Back to working on my own clapped out wagon...

My first thought looking at the paint on the Edsel made me think of Gas Monkey Garage.

Don't do it! Use paint.
