I hadn't even thought about that. Hmmm. So if you don't see me it may be because she pee'd and poop'ed all over herself during the hours of flying... Good point.

Thanks - we'll have to have an ADV Retriever get-together one day!

That just means she'll fit in fine with this group. You should bring her anyway.

swinging by from nashville

Hey guys I'm on a road trip from nashville, been on the backroads and to the outerbanks for 1700miles in the last 5 days. Evan told me about the meet up. Looks like I'll make it. I'm going to get off the blue ridge and take 77 in. Anyone know of a place I can pitch a tent in charlotte or a couch I can surf? See ya soon. Jeff

I won't be making it tonight either... I'm told I'm 'booked' for the next few days.

In any case I've been on the road for a few weeks and I've seen the inside of a restaurant way too much lately.

Numa / Augie.....

Please post up some details of Larry's unfortunate (and rather bizarre, quite frankly) adventure the other day so everyone can stay in the loop. Prayers sent from here and we look forward to a full recovery.

New to CLT and ADV

I just found this thread on ADV, and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Chris, and I just moved to CLT from Upstate NY a few months ago.

I also just picked up my first "ADV" bike - a 2007 Buell Ulysses. I also have a 03 Harley Fatboy, 04 Buell Firebolt, 77 Honda CB750F Super Sport, and a few other 2-wheeled projects.

I've had the Ulysses for a couple weeks now, and absolutely love it. I'm looking for some other ADV riders in the area who might be able to show me some good places to ride, eat, etc. I'd rather spend time tearing up some mountain roads than standing around drinking beer, and besides, the Uly looks way out of place at bike night!

As you can probably tell, I'm also a bit of a gearhead. I have a decent 2 car garage that is completely dedicated to bikes and fabrication. I have a TIG, a 9" South Bend Lathe, various lifts, etc. So if anyone gets stuck and needs a place to work on something, let me know. I also have a truck and small trailer, just in case of breakdowns. (Lost a belt on my Firebolt a couple months ago and it was nice to be able to pull her home easily.)

Anyways, I'm subscribing to this thread and will try to make a meet-up or ride one of these days in the near future. I have a lot planned for the new Uly, and I've been reading this forum for a while now to plan out what I want to do with it.

Welcome StarWolve. I'm relatively new to the area too, got my Triumph Tiger in March. I'm also trying to learn the area and find new places to ride. I went out with some of the guys a while ago and had a great time. Looks like it's time for another big bike dual sport day.

Quoting this now so you can't go back and delete it later when you discover you suddenly have 7 new best friends.
And........ Welcome.

I'm near Huntersville. Just off Mt. Holly / Huntersville Rd, between Beattie's Ford and Brookshire.

No worries. I like to "not fit in" with typical bikers. The first thing I said when I got my Firebolt was "Awesome. The Harley guys will hate it, because it looks like a sportbike... and the sportbike guys will hate it, because it has a Harley motor!"

I still have a really nice Harley that I'll never get rid of. I just let people assume one thing, then show up with a different bike the next time and watch their reactions.

"What the heck is this thing?!" @ Mac's Speed shop bike night

As far as the garage and trailer - I will give any rider in the area I meet in person my phone number to call for a ride if they break down. There's enough to deal with dodging texting cagers out on the road, so I don't mind helping out someone when they need it. Even the newest bike is still a mechanical animal, and things break, tires pick up debris, belts snap, etc.

Glad to have you on ADV, StarWolve. I'm leaving for some New England riding in New Hampshire and Vermont this week. Will be gone for about 8 weeks, will be ready for some N.C. riding when when I get back.
I live in Mineral Springs, and ride an 07 Uly.
