Very good to hear from you. What a freak accident! We look forward to seeing you soon - maybe a group of us will come visit in a month or three when you feel up to it.

Good to hear from you. Need help picking up the bike or anything else let me know. Hope you're well on your way to healing. Keep us posted on your recovery. You should put your story in face plant, its a bit 'unique'.

+1

This is definitely a Face Plant story. I mean, you had your helmet on and it saved your life! And you were NEAR your motorcycle! Others need to hear about this one.

2nd here. I know I'm new to this board, but if you need any help unloading or something, please let me know. Unloading bikes is always easier with a couple extra people. Heal up, and listen to your doc and physical therapists!

V-Strom Service

Got my V-Strom back yesterday after having it serviced by Carolina Adventure Cycles. Had new steering head bearings installed and while it was in, had the plugs and air cleaner replaced with a fresh set. Jeff noticed that the air box cover did not appear to fit as tightly as it should, checked the parts diagram and determined that there was a missing seal. (One of the two shops back in Maryland, where I used to have it serviced, apparently pulled the seal out when replacing the air cleaner and never put it back in.) Jeff checked with local dealers and no one had a seal in stock, so he ordered one for me and put everything back together once it arrived.

Went for a spin this morning and -- thanks to the folks at Carolina Adventure Cycles -- it's now steering and running smoothly and ready for Augie's July 6 ride.

I think that might be a common issue on the VStroms - seems like I heard that before. And, I know that the ZRX 1100 had an airbox where it was VERY easy and common to have a leak at the seal, and it significantly affected the performance. I put mine back together wrong once and instantly gained an off-idle stumble and lack of power below 3,500 rpm...

It is easy. I almost left mine out on my first filter change on my K6 Wee.

Does that mean my performance will increase sufficiently such that I'll be able to keep up with you next time we ride in the mountains?

I crashed on my mountain bike yesterday, so I was pondering if I would go not anyway. Hand and shoulder are still a little tender. If you're going on a different weekend post it and I'll attend.
