The places I know of are a little too far to just hop on the bike to take a couple practice runs. Any suggestions for the area around the north end of Meck County? I've been scoping out power lines, but many seem overgrown and either way not sure there may not be issues with traveling their access roads. Thanks for any input!
Rocks - let me know what you find. I'm looking for the same thing for riding my Ulysses. I live near huntersville and work in Davidson.

When things dry out I know of a few places that would be good little practice trails/roads in the north part of Meck county. Hit me up later this weekend and we'll see if we can get a ride sorted out. Maybe Monday afternoon?

Let me look at Sunday afternoon. I might be able to escape for an hour or two...

This week is out for me, but am definitely interested in exploring the N. Meck area. Thanks and we'll be in touch.

Have a great ride. My Vee 1K will be out of commission for couple of weeks as I finally started a project of installing an Audiovox Cruise Control. I got tired of the throttle locks and decided to go with a real cruise control. It took me almost a weekend just to strip off everything so that I can start the installation.

Hopefully, I can start putting everything back together by late Sunday.

Anxious to get some DS riding in also on my KLX. Missed a recent Beaver Rally up by Tellico. Great riding up there.

Later,

Jon

Ride Report - Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000

I rode a Saddle Sore 1000 on Saturday, November 2nd. Charlotte to Atlanta to Tallahassee to Jacksonville and back to Charlotte. It was 1,040 miles and took me 16 hours and 6 minutes, start to finish. I set my GoPro up to shoot one frame per minute and attempted to run it throughout the entire ride. It started acting up late in the ride, but I managed to shoot close to 900 frames that appear in this short (approx. 3.5 minutes) video.

It can also be view at this link: http://youtu.be/J4z3xa6Y4cs

My thanks to JoeyBones for being my start/stop witness!

Numa

I believe we need to see this KLX in person to verify your identity......and then take it for a spin....just to make sure it's a real motorcycle. Let me know when!

Good luck at getting your V-Strom back together. Hopefully, we can go on another Adventure Touring ride soon.

Pleasure was all mine (ok, getting up at 3:50 AM may not be "pleasure" exactly, but I got to go straight back to bed while you rode in, apparently, a great deal of darkness).

Congrats on the ride! And the video is a pretty cool concept. I wonder if there's some software somewhere that would "fade" or "dissolve" from one frame to the other?
