14 hours for me. This morning I felt like I had done an obstacle course. Legs were sore from the riding position and moving around in the turns, and my left arm was sore from the hard clutch pull on the Bolt. But a great ride, anyways. I may have to reconsider doing a Butt Burner on that bike... The seat padding (or lack thereof) leaves a bit to be desired!

I got home around 9:30 PM after picking up my wallet. Had to hang around the gas station for a bit waiting for the officer. Was asked by some "outlaw" bikers and some "squids" about the Buell while waiting. And had to politely ask a local crackhead to step away from my bike if he valued his life. Good times!

I also have the name of the person who picked up the wallet. I'm going to send a thank you card and gift card to him. He saved me a whole lot if headaches.

Here's a few pictures from the ride:

Some words I picked up on from the feedback on Sunday's adventure bike ride:

Outlaw bikers
Squids
Crackhead
Ho Lee Crap
Comedy
Suicidal
Kickstand walker
Sheriff
Lost wallet

Sounds like I missed a great ride! Let's hear more about the kickstand walker and suicidal deer.

Agreed. I think my bike weighed half of what his does, and he was pushing it in the gravel and through those turns (more like a series of U turns than a corner!) Nice riding!

As to all those words... well, my lost wallet lead me on an adventure to recover it, as it took a tour of Henderson county via a Sheriff's patrol car. The deer ran between Augie and Flasher, and then head first into a fence, where it broke it's back.

I'll leave the kickstand story to Nate... it was painful to watch, but it could have been worse if it tipped the other way and took the Flasher fall!

I was glad the bike had ABS on a few of those spots in the gravel, that's for damn sure. As for the kickstand, well I should've listened to my instincts. Instead I ignored them and now know what a C14 sounds like falling onto asphalt. Turns out it aint a pretty sound. At all. But it's all part of the adventure. One the bright side, now the ole girl has a little more patina on her, which means she's worth more now, right?

A little early but is anyone going to the Carolina Classic Motorcycle Show up at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer on May 3?
It's open to bikes from 1900-1994 but I'm more interested in looking than showing.
Anyone been before and know how big it is?

Maybe we should get a ride together and go to this as a group. I'd be interested for sure, even though they've excluded all the pre-1900 motorcycles...

Maybe they are snobs and don't consider the late 1800 steam powered bikes true motorcycles. :)
A group ride would be fun.

Sometimes we have problems getting it together for the following weekend... but I'll give a May 3rd ride a shot.

Unfortunately, I have Battle Assembly for the Army Reserves. Maybe next year - and I should have my 1977 CB750F rebuilt by then.
