As mentioned, plenty of us are planning on doing some great riding this winter: Brown Mtn, Brushy Mtn, Wilson's Creek area, and maybe an overnighter to Buzzard's Roost/Hurricane Creek/Chataloochee - so keep yer eyes and ears on the ready

Just found this thread. Was going to post about Pizza night, but won't need to now!

Here is a shot of Lost Cove Creek, guess that's the creek name, close to Pineola FR between Mortimer & Pineola taken last month by a fellow Adventurer.

Bump for the December meet-up! Third Thursday (17th) @ Hawthorne's...

Hey Brendan - I posted this up in CR as well...

I'm pleased to say that the November get-together led to plans for me to ride one day soon with Bill (vfrcauv) and volunteer at the SandBlast rally in February with SgtMike. Hope to see a few folks on the 17th.

FWIW, anyone is free to ride mine; lots of local dirt playgrounds to hit for trying bikes out.

I figure the winter months will see a smaller turn-out for meet-ups like this, so I was thinkin'.... IF the folks at Hawthorne's have a place where we could throw in a DVD while we munch pizza and imbibe in one-or-maybe-two beers, would there be interest in seeing "Riding Solo to the Top of the World"?

I just got that DVD in the mail (along with "One Crazy Ride", which we could then screen in January, for example).

Thoughts?

Met Guarev in Asheville, Sobbby as well, cool guys.

If you haven't seen these films, these guys have huevos grande!!! Filming and riding in some remote areas rarely visited by outsiders, great stuff.

I'm in for a mini film fest, they're 90 minutes each.

I recently saw "Riding Solo to the Top of the World". It was so amazing, I watched it twice! One guy, one camera, one bike! Freakin' Awesome! Still waiting to see "One Crazy Ride", all in good time! Count me in for the screening on the 3rd Thursday!

I'm going to stop by Hawthorne's in the next day or two and see what arrangements can be made to show the movie while we're there, even if it means lugging a DVD player in there myself....

I have an LCD projector, and can "borrow" a big screen from good ol' CMS...

So that gives us a couple of options - something they have there already, my 26" monitor with built-in DVD player, or the projector / laptop and play it on the wall / screen.

Ok. I'll get over to Hawthorne's tomorrow or Thursday for sure and figure it out. I'll report back here!
